Buzzer for micro quad
#1
As every gram counts in micro fpv world I was wondering if someone can recommend buzzer small and light enough to suit brushed micro quads like QX80-95 family.

I have also been wondering if there is such a thing, but it seems that they are all pretty bulky, well bulky for a micro anyway. I think the smallest I have seen is about 1cm (dia.) x 1cm high.

Someone else may have a better idea..?

These are pretty dinky (9mm*5mm) and fit on my RS90 OK:

Bought to replace the Adafruit Small Enclosed Piezo w/Wires, which was great until the wires fell off the piezo and refused to solder back on...

9mm is still quite thick IMHO. Perhaps I visit my local hobby shop and find out as I was not able to find smaller ones on Ali nor BG Sad

I've seen smaller surface mount buzzers, but none that will take 5V (most limited to 3V).

Here's several at digikey.  One caveat, these are transducer style (externally driven).  You'll have to provide a signal to them (adding to the overall weight). http://www.digikey.com/en/product-highli...ro-buzzers

Here's some simple circuitry: http://www.homemade-circuits.com/2011/12...rcuit.html

One reason a lot of the buzzers we use can't be smaller is because they contain the driver circuitry inside.  That's why the one jimbo linked is a good find - pretty small and light for an internally driven buzzer.
