Some are saying that Betaflight has lost some of its edge and has become more like Cleanflight than beta. I know it is too early. But still fun to keep up with things. http://butterflight.co/ Posts: 5,322 Threads: 673 Likes Received: 3,159 in 1,747 posts Likes Given: 2,032 Joined: Jan 2016 Reputation: 139 Just be careful of another Raceflight • Posts: 2,410 Threads: 136 Likes Received: 1,790 in 1,052 posts Likes Given: 3,302 Joined: Jan 2017 Reputation: 50 Will have to keep my eye on this! Sometimes two. I have been in this hobby for 2 years and have already gone through 4 firmwares. I just hope it never ends. • Posts: 1,773 Threads: 30 Likes Received: 1,199 in 755 posts Likes Given: 714 Joined: Oct 2016 Reputation: 45 Agreed, I can't keep up. I updated 2 of my quads to 3.3 RC2 on Saturday and played around with stage 2 filters. A couple hours later I looked and RC3 was already out. • Posts: 12,099 Threads: 125 Likes Received: 3,739 in 2,836 posts Likes Given: 99 Joined: Feb 2017 Reputation: 388 How is the quad flying with new filter. • Posts: 1,773 Threads: 30 Likes Received: 1,199 in 755 posts Likes Given: 714 Joined: Oct 2016 Reputation: 45 Nothing earth-shattering both quad are using boards with MPU6000 so I can only run 8k/8k. Still testing though but with all notches disabled and Stage 2 at 90 hz it's about the same as before but the motors are coming off basically cold. Next is bump up to 120hz and switch the d-term to PT1 • Posts: 438 Threads: 63 Likes Received: 93 in 70 posts Likes Given: 26 Joined: Jul 2017 Reputation: 1 Man if aint broken I aint fixing it • Posts: 4 Threads: 0 Likes Received: 0 in 0 posts Likes Given: 0 Joined: Oct 2017 Reputation: 0 Just gave it a fly on an old quad (betaflightf3, no softmount, zmx fusion x30 2140kv motors, hq 5x5x3, tbs 1300 graphene 6s) it was absolutely amazing, total dream to fly • Posts: 12,099 Threads: 125 Likes Received: 3,739 in 2,836 posts Likes Given: 99 Joined: Feb 2017 Reputation: 388 (27-Feb-2018, 02:30 PM)RENOV8R Wrote: Nothing earth-shattering both quad are using boards with MPU6000 so I can only run 8k/8k. Next is bump up to 120hz and switch the d-term to PT1 You should take a blackbox log to get you motor cutoff. On two of my quads, these filters have been so smooth. Biggest difference is little to no propwash and the motor sound is super quiet. On a third quad, the filter is not doing too well. Flies terrible. • Posts: 12,099 Threads: 125 Likes Received: 3,739 in 2,836 posts Likes Given: 99 Joined: Feb 2017 Reputation: 388 (27-Feb-2018, 05:11 PM)livid_fpv Wrote: Just gave it a fly on an old quad (betaflightf3, no softmount, zmx fusion x30 2140kv motors, hq 5x5x3, tbs 1300 graphene 6s) it was absolutely amazing, total dream to fly Good to hear. The butterflight is meant for F3 boards because BF took out the BIQUAD RC filter for F3 (except for a few FC) in the 3.3 RC. • Posts: 4 Threads: 0 Likes Received: 0 in 0 posts Likes Given: 0 Joined: Oct 2017 Reputation: 0 It's using the Fast kalman filter, no surprise that rs2k (kalyn doerr ex raceflight dev) is a member of the dev team • Posts: 12,099 Threads: 125 Likes Received: 3,739 in 2,836 posts Likes Given: 99 Joined: Feb 2017 Reputation: 388 Those of you that have Mach 2 and AKK VTX. As you know, the OSD control will be broken in BF 3.3. If you use butterflight, they have implemented a CLI to make the VTXs work again. set vtx_akk_hack = on • Posts: 1,773 Threads: 30 Likes Received: 1,199 in 755 posts Likes Given: 714 Joined: Oct 2016 Reputation: 45 OOO OOO check this baby out, comes with Butteryflight installed. Any comments? I'm about to pull the trigger on this as I want to do a build that will run 32k/32k https://www.racedayquads.com/collections...controller • Posts: 236 Threads: 2 Likes Received: 66 in 45 posts Likes Given: 27 Joined: Jan 2016 Reputation: 17 Confirmation bias at it's strongest. It's just BF 3.3 with BQRCFIR2 replaced by equivalent FKF (which is not a Kalman filter) These people are just promoting other's months worth of time and effort as their own work, and you take their word for it and believe everything. Check their GitHub, they have changed literally nothing from BF3.3. But you don't care, right? • |
