Actually the paint is just 4 coats of a medium tipped paint marker from walmart and a steady hand Big Grin
[Image: BCIxMfXl.jpg]
Some tips would be to work fast per coat while the paint is still wet (flood the tip of the marker) so no clumping and wipe off any excess from the faces before it has a chance to dry to it. Wait for each coat to fully dry before adding the next. By the 3rd coat the paint should be getting thick enough to show full color and not show any carbon underneath. Then I finished by lightly wet sanding with 2000 grit (must be fully cured/dried for best results) and give a light rub/polish with a good microfiber cloth.

Also hang everything to dry as to not ruin your clean edges by resting it on newspaper.

Hope this helps Wink

PS: someone tell my wife I need to buy another frame exclusively for a paint tutorial ROFL

I am willing to send you a frame for that if you're willing to do a tutorial for my blog? Big Grin
It's not a new frame though Smile

Quad Hopper Update: Maiden (OP updated also)
Holy F****** hell Batman! This beast scared the living  Poop out of me. Hovers smooth and quiet... Great! Everything responds as it should... Great! Flew it out a ways and then back (little to no throttle, just cruisin' LOS)... Awesome! OK lets do a straight up punch out.... OMFG!  Big Grin Cool ROFL Poop this thing is nuts! She shot so high, so fast I about peed! This is what I've been waiting for! After more than a year of boredom with trying get more performance from toys I finally got that adrenaline rush back, Wink and I dont think its going anywhere for a while! Tongue
She flies great from what I can tell on stock PIDs. No oscillations, (havent really pushed it yet though) no excess heat anywhere, no complaints!

Thanks for reading! Videos to come soon, still working out dvr for my goggles. And my Mobius is taking its sweet sweet time gettin here Wink

Well here is another +1 to DemonRC's quality! Specifically their Japanese toray cloth carbon fiber.
Took me longer than expected to find a safe place to fly this evening, and I was solo so no spotter for fpv Sad . (Temp went from 55deg F @1:30pm to low 70s by 4pm...) Everybody was outside enjoying the long awaited, short lived spring like spell. So by the time I got to my last 2 batteries twilight was setting in and LOS was getting difficult@ distance. Do I just call it good and save the last battery for tomarrow? Go home and discharge an anxious lipo? I THINK NOT! ROFL Tongue Well I remember reading a while back someone said quads were like magnets to pavement..... Well of all the area I had, I got a bit far out for the light and my eyes, lost orientation, zigged but should have zagged Wink had to shut it down before it went towards the drainage ditch and OH HEY... looky there... Pavement! Poop Doh lmao

Quad Hopper took one hell of a shot to the pavement with a sound like Death scraping a chalkboard! She took it like a beast though! Bent the props back, checked lipo for damage and put her right back in the air to finish what we started!

Fresh arm is in the mail. Going to try some long set epoxy to keep the delamination from spreading, but she is still airborne!

Also +1 to Oscar. I read somewhere, forget where, about how thrift stores are great for finding gear to supliment our RC hobby, tripods and gear bags specifically I remember. Well I found this rather neat sholder pack for $5 and it holds my Tx in its styro box Wink all my tools, spare parts, props and the quad itself hangs nicely from the top Smile

Great updates DoP! And way to go on surviving what sounds like relatively ruthless crash.

The bag idea isn't a bad one... I have been trying to decide what to do about a bag as my old travel duffel doesn't cut it. I cant wait to see video!

Yeah the bag has already proved quite useful. Quick and easy to carry everything for those times you have to hike a bit to your flying spot. Thumbs Up

And if all goes well I should have my DVR mod done in the next day or 2 Big Grin so video is not far off Wink

Epoxied the the arm to prevent further delamiation reaching to the motor holes.

I kind of like how the clear epoxy preseves and displays the battle scar haha Wink

Figured Id give an update and quite playin' with stuff since the rain came early and the work ran late today Wink
Still havent had a day to spend tuning (or trying to tune Tongue ) but she flies great so I havent been in a rush to do anything but squeeze in flights when I can lol. I still need to figure out why RC Swift 2 isnt picking up V (been setting a timer Wink ) its soldered to Demon Pulse PDBs vbat but I havent looked into it yet. Thinking about adding some foam over the mic too.
Heres my first attempt at tackling some trees Wink Ninja tree kungfu strong ROFL

Well, with increasing skill comes increased risk.
Mix that with 1 aluminum park bench swing, a tablespoon of wind and a dash of overconfidence.

Aaaannd VUALA!

Everyting was still working afterwards, power wise at least, and no magic smoke. So hopefully everything will go back together and work properly. Been wanting to clean up my LED wires and check into the swift 2's voltage sensing anyways but... Wink
Update coming soon.  Huh

Good to see that it survived electrically! I'm sure you'll get it back in the air in no time.

YES! Totally agree! She ain't no shelf queen Tongue

Me too! I am glad I modified the standoffs. (Aluminum 30mm instead of the factory nylon 30mm front and rear, and using all nylon screws and standoffs through the flight stack instead of the long aluminum screws and locknuts) The only part that may end up delaying me is the missing pressnut that was holding the front left arm. Which to be honest Im not a fan of now that I have some experience with them. Im not sure if its the tolerance of the carbon fibers holes or the nuts themselves but they do not all fit securely. (My calipers need replaced) For instance the center most 4 are buried under the flight stack. So once built if you have to replace a striped/damaged screw or arm, there is a chance the pressnut will fall out leaving you to disassemble everything just to get access under the PDB.
Now with that said, this frame has definitely held up to some abuse from a "new to hobby grade quads" perspective. To be honest, I feel I would have ripped off at least 2 arms already with a lesser frame Thumbs Up
