Build a Tiny Whoop - Resource and Share Your builds
#31
Here is a very complete guide on putting a Beebrain build together. Might be nice to add it to the "Build Logs and Tutorials" section on the first post:

Motors are an absolute must with upgrades. Stock motors just cannot hold the cam and actually fly. Needs 100% throttle at all times and turns it just drops. Once I got the motors in it has been insanely fun! Impossible to put down the sticks. I need about 25-100 more batteries  Tongue

Flight times for me on the above batteries is about 2 mins. Only thing I see left is figuring out where I can save more weight.

Most of my "tiny whoop" (65mm) quads have 17mm battery compartment so I can run 500-650 mah 3.8V batteries by cutting the front wall of the compartment (I get about 6 to 10 minutes on these). Some of my "tiny whoop" frames are sized for the small width Lipos. On these I run 300mah 3.8V batteries and get about 5 - 6 minutes.

On frames that take the 6mm motor I use BETAFPV 6x15 19500KV motors which are a lot stronger than the stock 17000KV motors. Some of the 65mm frame kits have mounts for the 7x16 motors. I took one of these frames and put 7x20 motors in it. Wow. The battery compartment is narrow, so I use a 300 mah 3.8 volt Lipo...still get about 4 minutes flight time.

First, thanks for starting this thread. It is really what I have been looking for... Some place to share "tiny whoop" builds, thoughts, ideas, etc. I fly mostly indoors, but I don't fly really good so I crash a lot; into everything. Yeah, I don't even try to go under the table and through the chairs (ha ha). Since I broke the antenna on my first quad on day two, I am more concerned about durability and protecting the camera and antennas than I am gut wrenching performance. I currently have more than a dozen whoops ranging from 65mm to 85mm; some have cameras and some don't. New builds, modifications, changes, and upgrades are ongoing. For frames using the 6mm motors, I like the BetaFPV 19000 and 19500 KV motors. I have a couple of 65mm frames that take 7mm motors; I have put 7x20 motors in one - WOW. The 75mm frames have 8x20 motors and the 85mm frames have 8.5x20 motors. I generally make my own canopies, antenna protectors, and camera mounts out of "free" plastic from blister packs and food containers. My early builds used the E013 flight controller. Most of my newer builds have Bayang protocol flight controllers; BetaFPV Lite or Whoop Lite.
Thanks to everyone.
I look forward to reading and sharing in this thread.
Attached pics of some of my fleet. Thanks.
