That's maybe why over 1k ppl have this on alert: http://m.banggood.com/Eachine-Aurora-90-...14799.html

Anyway we need to support the small innovative companies and that's may will cost some extra bucks

The FuriousFPV solution is really cool. I think it weighs ~50g. It's running the DYS1102 10k which are soon to be available on banggood. I've seen flight tests with it - it breaks really fast Sad

I think you could spend a few less dollars by printing a squashed doinker and using 1102's or 1103's

Like... Motors+esc: ~57, fc: ~23, VTX: ~20, Rx: ~15, Props: 7
So, around $120?

I'm all for supporting small innovative companies. But you have to draw the line when they try to rape their customers by overpricing their kit by 100% when comparing it to similar diy builds.

"rape"? really? This is hobby drone - not an EpiPen.

The kludge DIY competition to this drone outweighs this by 17 or so grams (that's a 40% increase) and takes a few hours to build. Nothing is overpriced here. You're just willing to make sacrifices in your design to save money and you're willing to dump hours of your time into making something (I am, too).

For those that don't build and don't troll the internet looking for the exact right parts to make their dream machine - this is a fine deal.

Just one question - how much would you charge someone to build a quad for him if that was your day job?

Not mentioning time spent on research, company expenses, personal expenses, sourcing components etc. Damn, I'd be raping my customers too lol

I might get a Furious Mosquito to try out Smile looks interesting they claim it can achieve 4:1 thrust weight ratio on that tiny machine!

I believe it. The crap-o hubsan tri blades pull 56g on the 1103 1000 kv motors.

The king kong 65mm something like 89g on 8000kv... my 118mm build with 1103's and rolling spider props:

I mean - If you believe this guy's testing: then yes Smile I've seen a few other tests that seem to indicated that his results are within the realm of reason.

And, yes, 2s. This prop seems to hit the sweet spot for these motors. 4 blades and you get no thrust gain - only increased amps. More aggressive props also seem to only really add amp draw. The props spin so fast though you might just be hitting some aerodynamic issues like cavitation of sorts.

This build - with a 450mah 65/130c battery weighs 83g ... and flies for about 6.5m. Is that a thrust weight ratio of 4.3:1? It's crazy. But then again, I've never really flown anything bigger. Unless you count flying a 220mm drone for 3 minutes then crashing into the ground and sending up plumes of smoke as "flying" Smile

But my build could easily be a lot lighter. The clover and antenna and antenna protection alone add 5g. And switching to a 300mah would cut another 7g or so. With that setup you'd hit 5:1

Oh - not dumb - the biggest reason: they weren't around when i built this Smile I would definitely gotten a colored set too!

but i thought about upgrading to those and I'm not sure i will. This quad comes down with escs/motors/battery legit cold to the touch - i bet the line between cold and white smoke is narrow for these given the mass and rpms. so i might save the 10ks for builds with smaller props. Like maybe a brushless whoopee (oscar's tiny whoop killah).

With these props i think the 10ks would be fine though - but i've heard you burn them up with the Furious RX2535's with four blades. These props appear to make more thrust on 8ks than the rx2535s in 4 or 2 blade config. these motors seem to like less agressive - super light props.

i haven't seen many tests for the 10ks but the best numbers i've seen for them so far show 92g thrust for 2blade rx2525 cut to 2.35" so these might have a good power bump!
