Brushless motor winding and rewinding
#1
I started to create a youtube video series about motor winding and rewinding. ATM there are two episodes about 12N14P dLRK motors that covers more less all mini quad motors 220x and 230x size as well as 180x series.

Hope at least one person will find it useful and my time was not wasted after all Smile

WYE gives you lower KV and much lower startup torque. And lower startup current as well

Yes, you said that in the video, I mean how much lower kv? Is there a formula, or multiplier? Supposing we keep the number of turns and everything

What is the smallest motors you have rewound? What is the thinnest wire you have worked with?

on RC group . There is a spread sheet to calculate kv with different pattern and termination. (Turn Calc from Miguel V)

for a same amount of turn if you switch from delta to WYE you need to: multiply by 0.58 (Delta_kv *0.58=Wye_kv)
from WYE to delta multiply by 1.7.

or pretty close...

Nice video. I don't need to wind anything at the moment but I've never seen brush less motor windings explained before.
