BoBo-95 - F3/RotorX 1105B/MicroRx
#1
Yet another build - this time on a Banggood BoBo 95mm CF frame with a 20mm F3 FC, 6A (2-3S) Racerstar V2 Blheli_S ESC, Furious FPV MicroRx Eachine EF-02 and my old set of RotorX 1105B's from the RS-90.

Swapped the supplied standoffs with RS-90 2mm nylon hardware and it looks much better. Had to trim the upper deck for the camera to fit, shouldn't be a problem when crashing I hope!

Would love to fly it, but I seem to have fried a motor - which is disappointing! Waiting for a replacement from the UK which should hopefully be here by the end of the week...

52g without a battery.

Well, I haven't fried a motor as the replacement (stupidly bought a 1105 and not a 1105B) doesn't work either...

All 4 ESC's will flash Blheli_S fine and no issues are found when changing parameters either, but ESC/motor 1 will not spin.

If I swap ESC/motor1 onto pad 3 on the FC, everything springs to life - so it's not dead a ESC/FC, but looks like a wire issue?

Resoldered everything and putting ESC/motor 3 onto pad 1 on the FC result in ESC/motor 3 not moving.

This is the FC I have and there are pads 5 &6 on the underside - can I remap in Betaflight to get this working?

Nicely done, man! - I actually have one of those lying around too, you just motivated me to give it another go somewhere in the close future ;-) Those micros are perfect for thrashing around subterranean parking lots, *heheheee.. Because of its weight specs, you're sure to be on the legal side.
The view of the FC gave me some spontaneous shudders, though - I'm still recovering from some sleepless nights spent over a family member of your FC, an Airbot F4 clone with similarly deceiving terminology in the name. I was using a Frsky XM+ Rx, but it seemed that - as Unseen rightly set me upon - the Kingkong 90GT FC could not handle the number of channels..
The Airbot clones, I've warned about them in another post already, showed tendencies of spontaneous decomposition. Sort of IC-seizures, and besides that I don't know up to which point the "Chinese D-Shot" can be believed. In my case there was no way to make more than 2 motors work on D-Shot, despite it being in the specs. Got it to run on Multishot pretty decently, but the FCs, as said, tended to spontaneously "format" themselves. Guess that's some unresolved interference-issue, but considering the low price, wasting time on it seems erratic. I've learned my lesson and I'm sticking to original dev-stuff from now on, unluckily my Rotorgeeks-FCs are still stuck at customs. They must be pretty awesome, if even custom officials cannot separate from them..
I ended up "pimping" my 90GT up to 4s capability & corresponding "real-size" components, it was flying bloody fast with those, but frying motors over it. It had been worth the fun, however, and an appropriate revenge for having me going haywire over pin-outs and spontaneous resets..
Happy flying and stable setups to you!!

Not yet - have a new FC to solder in when I get 5 minutes!  Cry

The props are never going to fly after this:

Ouch!

Goes to show that even tiny props on tiny brushless motors are anything but friendly.

Cheers - I really should know better.

The FC is now no longer recognised in Windows (no USB device detected or DFU) and a couple of small components on the underside get really hot when powered via USB, so currently waiting on a replacement.

Looks like this will take a bit longer to get into the air...  Dodgy

This thing is never going to fly...

New FC has arrived from Banggood, rewired everything and I still have a dead motor on 1...

Swapped out the speed controller for a new one and still a dead motor on 1...

Realised that my spare RotorX 1105 motor is a 4000kv and not the 1105B 6500kv that I need - arse.

At least it looks nice!

Does anyone want to swap a new 4000 for a 6500? Smile

Now soldered in a new set of 1103 8000KV motors and another new ESC for motor 1.

Still a no movement on 1.

BLHeli Suite sees the ESC's fine, but the motor on 1 never spins up - what the heckety-heck am I doing wrong!>!>?

Very strange!

If BLHeliSuite can see the ESC then it has both power and a working control connection to the flight controller.

If you try to spin motor 1 in the Motors tab, does it still refuse to spin?
