I got new FVT BLHeli_S 30A esc's.  I can get them working just fine with multishot.  

When I try DSHOT the motors kick for a split second every second or so.  When I go into the BF motors tab and raise the slider the motors beep once when slider is up and again when I lower it.  

I have flashed the latest firmware and have even tried calibrating them while in Multishot and switching back to DSHOT with no luck.

Multishot works fine, just wondering what i'm missing with DSHOT.

FC is Omnibus F3, with Emax RS2205S 2300kv.

I have the same ESCs and motors. FC is BFF3 though. I am running Dshot600 on 8K/8K without issue.

Do you have the Spring or normal version? You will need to remove filter cap for Dshot if you have normal version.

It says normal version on the sticker but when I plug them into BLHELI they come up as AH-25 which is the Spring version.

No. The type of the BLHeli_S firmware only defines the processor speed, pinouts and FET swtiching dead time.

There is no such thing as a "Spring" version and the functionality is identical for all BLHeli_S firmware versions. If your ESCs don't do DShot then there must be a capacitor that needs removing, or a configuration change that you need to make on the flight controller to support DShot.

When Dshot came out, FVT started making the Spring version of their ESCs. Everything is the same except they removed the cap. Anyway, you can remove the cap yourself and Dshot should work. I did the same for mine.

It's just an updated version of the ESC (without the filter capacitor on the signal line). The point I was trying to make was that the firmware is identical and the whole point of BLHeli_S was to create one firmware which would be the same on all BLHeli_ESCs.

So, there's no version of BLHeli_S that's specific to the FVT Spring and all the firmware designation (A-H-25) tells you is the processor pinout (A), the processor speed (H - 48MHz) and the FET switching dead time (25 nanoseconds).

The functionality is identical, regardless of the firmware designation. All latest releases of BLHeli_S support DShot. If the hardware it runs on has the filter capacitor installed, that will prevent you from running DShot.
