I am receiving rssi and telemetry but the receiver page in Betaflight shows no connection or movement when tx sticks are moved. Starting to lose my mind.

Starting to lose my mind. sounds like RX signal connection to FC is not reliable... Or, a wrong RX protocol is chosen? What RX are you using? 12-Feb-2017, 10:23 PM I am using FRsky x4r The tx shows rssi and telemetry values just no receiver or switch commands (12-Feb-2017, 10:23 PM)CaCondor Wrote: I am using FRsky x4r The tx shows rssi and telemetry values just no receiver or switch commands So you are using SBUS, have you chosen "serial RX" for the UART port you are using for the RX in port tab? have you selected RX_Serial under Receiver mode in Configuration tab? As well as choosing SBUS under Serial Receiver provider? And with the BLX Piko there is a small solder bridge to select PPM or SBUS, make sure you are on the right one? 13-Feb-2017, 12:54 AM Yes, I did set those parameters properly. sbus pads are soldered together my x4r lights up and sends rssi and smart port sends telemetry ( batt voltage ) When battery is plugged in, the red LED lights and the green one flashes on Piko board There must be just one thing that's not right..................... 13-Feb-2017, 02:31 AM You may have done this, but just in case.... Turn the transmitter on before plugging in the USB cable. Then see if you have movement with the sticks in the receiver tab. The second thing you mention about green light flashing with battery may indicate that the quad is NOT armed yet. 13-Feb-2017, 05:22 PM Finally, success. It works. Here was the problem..........................the Furious directions say to set sbus_inversion = OFF but, set sbus_inversion = ON is the cli command that made it work. I wrote to Furious and they suggested trying either set sbus_inversion = OFF or set sbus_inversion = ON when I told them that my rx and the Piko board were not communicating. Thanks for all the suggestions and tell others about this as I have read where others have had the same problem. I also suggested to Furious to amend their instructions to reflect this. 14-Feb-2017, 10:41 AM Oh right, Furious seems to have the tendency of changing stuff often. I own their first batch Piko FC, and now even the connection diagram has changed in the latest version... In your case, they have probably added SBUS hardware inversion in the board in the latest batch... 14-Feb-2017, 11:05 AM Nice to see things work out... Only recently seen the piko board on a friend's quad, and indeed the size does make it quite interesting to me. |
