Betaflight connecting

Take a step back. One thing at a time.

If you remove any wires you may have soldered to the BOOT pins and just plug the board into your computer, what happens?

The button to 'calibrate accelerometer' is greyed out. Why could this be?

Ah. So it was a bad USB cable all along then.   Thumbs Up

Take things slowly here. Understand what you are doing and why you are doing it before you take action. Being methodical and careful pays huge dividends in this hobby.

Good to see you are on the way!

To calibrate your accelerometer, the flight controller must be level and absolutely still during calibration.

What firmware did you flash? In recent versions of Betaflight, the accelerometer is disabled by default.

Ah ok. I flashed the latest Cleanflight, Betaflight didn't go as well. How can I 'enable' the accelerometer?

You can tell I'm just an excited 17 year old, surely?! ???

I can, but it doesn't relieve you from needing to understand what you are doing. A quadcopter is a very dangerous thing once you fit propellers and a flight battery and the spinning propellers have the ability to seriously injure both you and other people who are nearby. Being methodical and understanding things properly will help to save you from what could be horrifying injuries if the quad was to suddenly jump at your face.

I'm being totally serious here, the risks are very real.

As to the accelerometer, it should be enabled. To see why not, go to the CLI in the configurator and type 'get acc'.

This should show you what the CLI variable acc_hardware is set to. It should be set to 0 (zero) which means 'auto detect'.

Anyway, it's time for me to cook some food now, but I'll check back later on.

Good luck!

Very strange noise. As mentioned, I had this all fine before, with the correct sound as I've seen on videos. Not now though Sad. Could the receiver have blown?

Update. Lights as before. Good sounds now. Bit of resoldering! Need to check my Cleanflight settings, and calibrate the escs I think
