Betaflight connecting
#1
Please help me!
I am building the UAVfutures quad. I am using the upgrade VTX, FC, and upgraded Camera.
As far as I'm aware, I've connected everything good, following the video closely! When I plug my battery in, the red light flshes and then blue light is static. I have successfully bound my receiver and radio. I have set up controls. But when I go to Arm my motors, nothing happens, and my throttlendoesnt work either. Also, I cannot connect to betaflight?! Please help me!!!!

Most likely a driver issue. I'm sure someone here (not necessarily me) could help you with some additional info:
  • Which flight controller are you using
  • Which system are you using (PC or Mac)
Also try different USB cables - some are just made for charging things, not for data connections

Neither 'Zadig' nor 'Impulse RC driver fixer' worked for me, I downloaded 8 different driver packs and fixes, I can't say which one worked because I forgot that I might need to restart my PC after installing, so only restarted after installing them all!

Using the SPF3 from Banggood, not deluxe
Trued a windows 10 desktop, and MacBook Air

Tried a few USBs, not successful with a phone microUSb which should have a Data Connection surely?

Which version of betaflight configurator? (you should see version Nr. in top left)

It could be you need an older version of the configurator if there's an older firmware on the fc, or flash newer firmware Sad

Did you also reboot your computer after installing the new drives, this could help also.

Make sure the phone can send and receive data to and from the PC using that USB, otherwise it is  just a charge cable.
Have you tried to install drivers - Zadig, Impulse RC driver pack etc.?

I have correct drivers installed. With a baud rate of 256000, and no reboot, flash on connect, full chip erase, and manual baud rate all checked, the closest I've got not flashing successfully is a 'contacting boot loader', then STM32 timed out?

Someone please help! It would make me very happy!

Try without "full chip erase" as well
Maybe also half the baud rate

Hm i think the sprf3 has to be flashed in DFU mode... Means once the board is put in DFU mode (by holding boot button or bridging boot pads) it needs even another driver which can be a pain.

Are you sure there's betaflight on it already? Could be cleanflight as well...

Easiest thing would be, instead of trying to flash, to download an older version of betaflight or cleanflight configurator first in order to connect and find out what's on there.

Ok I'll try this. Thanks! How can I get an older version? Also, how likely is it that the board is just broken? Probably very unlikely, and I'm just a noob? Thanks for the help everyone!

The SP Racing F3 does not use DFU mode!

The only driver needed is the CP2102 USB-Serial Bridge driver.

To flash the firmware using the BOOT pads, you should jumper the boot pads, connect the USB, set 'full chip erase', 'no reboot sequence' and set the baud rate to 115200. Then, load the firmware and hit the 'flash' button. If it does not work, try again with the baud rate set to 57600.

I keep getting no response from boot loader?

Just to make sure, this is my board: https://www.banggood.com/Upgrade-NAZE32-...ds=myorder

So is it the 'SPracingF3' FIRMWARE????

If I have the STM32 drivers installed, will this affect my flashing? Should I uninstall them do you think?
