34 What version of betaflight and gui? I had similar problems that the changed variables didn't save, when I had betaflight flashed with cleanflight gui and tried to use betaflight gui. This was at the time betaflight gui was released. The fix for me was to flash the board with the latest betaflight and use the latest betaflight gui.

139 Like Oyvinla said, it sounds like the settings are not saved. ESC detects signal from FC, and doesn't work the other way round for betaflight/BLHeli at this stage.

1 I have Betaflight 1.8.3
I tried to flash the piko blx fc and it wouldn't. So I watched a you tube video from Furious rc about another way to accomplish it. After using Zadig and the other complicated instructions, it opened.
But, now I realize, it never did flash where you see the colored band go across the screen . It just opened and I set all the parameters in cleanflight. I hate to think I will have to tear into my build to short the boot pins and reflash. Any ideas? Maybe the little piko blx was flashed at the factory? As I said, I never did have to flash it, it just opened per the Furious rc instructions.
I did go back to blheli and check to see if all my esc's are the same settings and they are. Still, I can't get Multi to stick in the motor/esc protocol.
Thanks for your patience and help,
Willie B

1 oyvinla,
You are very kind. I just wrote dump in the beta flight cli and it shows I have betaflight moto lab 2.8.1 I assume that means I do not need to reflash the fc.
In blheli, I got all the esc's running the motors the correct direction and all numbers balanced with each other. In the motor tab in blheli and in beta flight, the motors perform correctly, but when I put on props and armed the board the little quad went full throttle and flipped over. I immediately disarmed it..
I love this stuff when it works and when it doesn't, it's such a mystery. I know there is just something simple that is illuding me.
Happy travels in China,
Willie B
