Best FPV Camera Settings
#1
Hey guys, let's start a thread to compile all of our favorite settings for our FPV cameras Smile
To find your camera, put in the name of your camera in the "Search this thread" box.

If there is a missing camera in this thread, or you have different settings that you think people should try out, feel free to drop it in the comment down below it will help many people out Smile

Here are my favorite settings (settings are mostly for sunny/cloudy daylight flying)

Runcam Swift/Swift 2/HS1177:
  • Exposure
    • Shutter => Auto
    • Brightness => 50-65 (depends on the lighting, the brighter the day the lower it should be)
    • DWDR => On, Level => 63
  • Image Adj.
    • Contrast => 100
    • Sharpness => Max
    • Display
      • LCD
      • User
        • Gamma => 0.5
Runcam Eagle:
  • Turned off auto sharping and auto noise reduction and set them both to 4 manually. If you have aliasing, lower these numbers, if you don't, try higher number it will give you clearer image
  • Saturation, manual, max
  • Brightness, 32-40
Runcam Eagle 2:
  • Sharpness, manual, 5 (reduce if you have aliasing)
  • Edge manual, 6 (reduce if you have aliasing)
  • Saturation, manual, 15
  • Brightness, 48 for better WDR, 36-40 for better colour
Foxeer Arrow V2
  • Exposure
  • Brightness = 55  (depends on the lighting, the brighter the day the lower it should be)
  • DWDR =>on, Level => 55
  • IMG. ADJ
  • Contrast => 95
  • Sharpness => max
  • Display => LCD, Gemma => 0.45

This is a good topic, not sure why there are no follow-up posts though.

I have a question on my Runcam Sky.
There are 2 WDR settings within the menu, one "Hi" and the other "Lo". I have never seen anyone mentioned that.
Most articles only mentioned WDR and many bump it up to 63.
So what is the Hi & Lo thingy, and how does the "Lo" setting work?

Hey Drz,

I agree this is a great topic! I have often struggled with how to set my cameras up and  I'll be taking advantage of this the next time that I have one out of one of the quads. Thanks for bumping.

As for my personal settings... TBH, I  still haven't spent any time adjusting settings other than putting my name on cameras so I haven't had a chance to figure out what works best for me.

Don't think you are missing much, carl.
Friends and I have tried messing with camera settings before, even those options where we have no clue what they are. And most time we ended up doing a factory Reset. That always turned out better than our experiments. LOL.

For my older cams like Runcam Sky & Sky Plus, I've mainly adjusted and used manual White Balance, Color for Day/night, and turned off Digital Noise Reduction.

As for the new micro swift 2, have not got the chance to try the settings.
Only had 1 flight with it and did not quite like the default high color gain, otherwise seems like it's a really good little cam.
