BEC for DJI O3 unit
#1
Guys, would you say this BEC is good to use to hook up my O3 to my FC? I want to avoid going directly to VBat just in case some spike or something happens and fries my stuff.

MICRO BEC MATEK 6-30V TO 5V/9V-ADJ (6S)

* High Efficiency Synchronous Step-down regulator
* Wide 6V to 30V Operating Input Range
* Continuous load current: 1.5 Amps (Max.2.5A 5s/minute)
* VOut 5V or 9V Adj. Default is 5V.
* VOut Load Regulation: 2%
* Standby current: <5mA

Else, what would you all recommend or have done that's proven in regards to the O3 unit?

you havent any regulated pad on the fc?

the matek bec is known as solid and quality, but some speak about electrical noise. it might be the best choice.

Indeed I do as I work with SpeedyBee F7s V3 mostly so as awesome as this FC is, both MadTech and SpeedyBee recommend NOT using the FC as current levels may not be a guarantee. You could have power loss using a pad on the FC. Better approach is VBat or even better a BEC. I just worry about pulling 2A from the BEC which accord to MadTech should be your target.

I strongly recommend using that MATEK BEC.  I use them on all my digital builds, be it WS or DJI.  They can handle the current draw just fine and are a better option in my opinion than any onboard FC based BEC or even connecting to VBat.
