Battery buzzers
#1
Let's talk about battery buzzers for a second. Yes, one of my quads is an old ZMR250 CC3D which means I need a battery buzzer.

I've been through tons of them as they eventually get lost in crashes or just stop working.

I'm 90% sure I normally set them at 3.4v, then when I do a punch out sure it'll start beeping, but as soon as the battery recovers it would stop beeping. I'm pretty sure that's how they worked.

My problem is, the last 2 batches I've bought off eBay have behaved differently - during punch out - start beeping. Battery recovers - keep beeping. The buzzers don't stop beeping after punchouts. Very annoying, as I have to land, unplug the buzzer and plug it in again to reset it. So pretty much useless.

Has anyone else noticed this? Or am I mistaken about how they work.

These are what I usually use.

have the same, as yours, works as scenario 1, however it is old one..
if you are fpving go for OSD, lighter and more flexible (and they are not ejected 20 meters after crash...)
All the best

I don't think the QC/QA on these is very good on some batches.  I have two of them that read about 2 tenths of a volt apart around the 4 v range but are pretty close at anything above 10v.  Checked with a VOM, neither one of them is very accurate.

I'm a bit reluctant with OSDs - yet another thing that can break. Can they work with a CC3D?

I would rather prefer 2 other options:
- use FC VBAT and lost model buzzer for voltage alarm

- or use Telemetry (if you are using taranis), and setup logical swtich to avoid false alarms
https://oscarliang.com/taranis-logical-s...age-alarm/ (and the comment as well some suggested easier methods that might work)

If you want to stick with voltage buzzer, go with the ones from HK, mine from them work great. Those from ebay are a bit sketchy.

Thumbs Up to Oscar's suggestions, I use a combination of FC VBAT and Taranis telemetry which works well for me.

Those buzzers are not nice to fit in my opinion, invariably go flying when you crash as others have said too. I only use  those buzzers to check batteries at home or in the field and I've now removed the two buzzers as they annoy the pants out of me.

I thought that FC VBAT can't be done with a CC3D? I have a Taranis so telemetry could be a good option.

Can be done but a voltage divider will be needed https://github.com/cleanflight/cleanflig...%20CC3D.md

+1 for FC/Telemetry + OSD VBAT

Most of the times I am unable to hear the buzzer on the quad in flight because of motor noise. The Taranis telemetry is my best source for battery voltage. I have it speak the voltage level when it starts dipping, and when I hit the SH button switch.

OSD is also a good option, and if there is not room for OSD, the HS1190 cameras have a built in voltage indicator.
