Bambu Lab X1 Carbon
#1
After 6-7 years living with my Artillery Sidewinder X1, I finally decided to upgrade.  I have done everything to the Sidewinder I can do. It is making some good prints, I think it is time. Black Friday, Bambu Lab had $200 off the X1 Carbon. Trigger pulled.

I thought this thing will print right out of the box. Well, it did and then it did not. First print went great, the second one did not. And neither did multiple tries after. Many calibrations, recalibration, reading forums, Bambu help documents, and even calling a friend who has three of these without resolution. Pretty much given up and started a tech support ticket. This was partly my fault. My second print, I sliced myself. But realized later I used the wrong printer profile. When I corrected everything, it still did not print properly. So, I must have screw up something in the printer.

As a last ditch effort, I tried to do a factory reset for the second time. But this time, I did the factory reset then power down completely after it rebooted. Then I powered down and went through the starting calibration. A miracle happened, the print printed. I hope this help someone in the same boat as me.

It is amazing how fast this thing prints. YouTube videos just does not do it justice. And the quality is top notch. Anyone on the fence, go for it. You will not regret it.

In the AMS, I just have PLA for now. They don't recommend TPU in there. The AMS do have dessicants to keep everything dry. And the AMS has a dry function to dry out filament if they appear wet. But I am not sure how it achieves this. Because the AMS doesn't have a heat element. But to be honest, with my other printer, I don't pay too much attention to keeping filament dry. I do try to pack and seal, but because the bags are resealable, the seal always eventually give up and allows air in. I have not found a nice resealable bags that stays seal.

Some filaments do really need to be kept dry. I am not really using these yet. But according to the internet, the AMS does a good job keeping filaments dry, hence the cover.

Pack and seal to keep filament from absorbing moist.
