My thought on the tone for a set of reviews was less pointing out some sort of fixed character trait and more about how the tone of your comments in this thread would make for an interesting tone to use for a set of reviews. There are tons of bubble-gum and rainbow reviews out there that someone who starts with a cynical perspective would make for a great contrast. AS i thought about what i would say/review about all the FS controllers and TX line up, with focus on the 6ch and up, ( i have 3 pistol grip FS controllers that i used on my, HOME HOME BUILT BOATS..and land RCs)...and...the only thing i would have added in that controller review was..instead of the way you put it,,,which was nice by the way.....i would have been more focused on letting the listener know that there is no real difference between two...but for the most part its is the processors of the older FS and this newer model, irange/fsia6x and also did you try to set the aux channels??? do it...see what you come up with... i know i had a hell of a time...but it was just another setting that needed to be turned on....and that is why noob review is an advertisement..you never used this before you reviewed it...because you were rushed...my review of these controllers, and TXs because i have used them since day one, and have a drawer full of about 20 FS TXs and 4 yrs of use with them, would be a review!!!! but mine would still be a noob review because i dont know what a REAL review is..obviously..lol but i got to say...you almost made "me" believe that there was a difference between the two..i had to go pick them up again and see...LOLOLOLOL... it wasnt a bad review....just if you didnt know about the FS line up....then??? • Posts: 1,590 Threads: 89 Likes Received: 1,283 in 768 posts Likes Given: 1,274 Joined: Jan 2017 Reputation: 31 carl.vegas Current Quads: Operational: Diatone GT2 200 In need of repair: Bumble Bee, tehStein, Slightly modified Vortex 250 • Posts: 139 Threads: 19 Likes Received: 34 in 26 posts Likes Given: 9 Joined: Mar 2017 Reputation: 0 (21-Apr-2017, 05:28 PM)Carl.Vegas Wrote: what??? i really thought i was good...have you used this controller or do you use it.. i promise, i would be all bla bla if you havent... but i am really tryin to understand "review",..so i can do it right, and not be such a jerk about it...im AM trying to open a small shop..so i need SKILLS so SELL... im goin to read your review once more..because the bottom line is oscar and friends like you enough to be a reviewer, so you must be doing something right...well more then something...your doin IT right... ... • Posts: 139 Threads: 19 Likes Received: 34 in 26 posts Likes Given: 9 Joined: Mar 2017 Reputation: 0 so i read it again....they are really good controllers..and i think if they didnt have the 4 doubleA batteries. it would really feel like a toy...and if they ever did make a new controller it diffidently needs a HEAVIER feel to it..and wide gripping on the sides...the taranis has a "big" feel to it..it has "MASS". and i like that...FS/i Range..is almost toyish...but they are such damn good controllers for the buck...and they have such a far range for the price..and the TXs are getting more builder friendly, smaller.. THE DEFINITION from the dictionary of the word REVIEW, and words in that definition.. a review based on these words and definitions couldnt be argued with...RIGHT? REVIEW: a formal assessment or examination of something with the possibility or intentions of instituting change if necessary ASSESSMENT: the evaluation or estimation of the nature, quality, or ability of someone or something. EVALUATION: the making of a judgment about the amount, number, or value of something; assessment . JUDGEMENT: the ability to make considered decisions or come to sensible conclusions. ****INSPECTION:**** careful examination or scrutiny. i like inspection...cause thats what we do..inspect....."CAREFUL" is the first word....dosent say hurried or skimmed over...lol..... i could sit here and pick these definitions apart...but im sure everyone will read and understand these in different ways ..........SO let it begin • Posts: 1,590 Threads: 89 Likes Received: 1,283 in 768 posts Likes Given: 1,274 Joined: Jan 2017 Reputation: 31 Tom is the reviewer. I think each of them could be used for different flavors of what is typically called a "review" online. There are definitely some so-called reviewers who really just inspect a product and relay their findings. (I think of really basic unboxing photos that report on "it has 3 of these in the box" but no opinions shared). There are others who stick with the assessments and judgements: "Here is what I think about this product" or "My experience was X". Those are the most subjective and of course you have to watch out for bias. Evaluation is really where the experienced opinion comes into play. In order to evaluate you need to be able to measure and judge. That takes a been-there-done-that background. I would guess a good and honest evaluation would be more along the lines of what you wish there were more quality examples of on the internet. I would say someone who comes to mind as a good reviewer as we talk about this is RCModelReviews. He's brutal at times and that's what makes him great. He also has a ton of knowledge and experience. Here is a video of him explaining why he's not the kind of reviewer that you hate in fact: carl.vegas Current Quads: Operational: Diatone GT2 200 In need of repair: Bumble Bee, tehStein, Slightly modified Vortex 250 |
