AWESOME Q95
a 95mm micro drone, available in 2 receiver options (frsky & flysky), and one without. This is a light weight micro fitted with an F3 flight controller with built in OSD. The all carbon fiber frame keeps weight low and it should be able to handle light to moderate crashes all day. This is beyond toy grade, and if you plan on purchasing this, it would be a good idea to get to know betaflight. With a light weight frame, coupled with 1103 motors and 2035 props, it looks like its going to be a fast one.

Shown above are flysky RX, 2 sets of props, prop guard, and the Q95. 
What's missing? Propeller screws!!! Even though the props fit quite snug, I wouldnt suggest flying with out the screws. The screw size you are looking for is 6mm long. Plus make sure you have your own Lipo, because this one doesn’t come with one.

landing skids together with the prop guards, no need to worry about screw size, you use the same ones installed on the quad. This is because the q95 comes with landing skids pre installed, ones without the prop guards.  I dont recommend using the prop guards, they are too flimsy to do any proper protection. 



Very nice propellers, excellent fitment, Gemfan 2035, should be able to provide plenty of thrust. Plus these blades bend right back, even after being bent 90 degrees. They are very malleable 

A CLOSER LOOK:


Front-Landing skids double as motor guards, motor wires can get tangle up with the propellers, its a good idea to twist the wires to tighten them down, or simply use something to hold them down. 


Side- poorly thought out design: the camera lens protrudes, and will be the first to make contact in a crash.  Also visible here. the Q95 uses 2 thick rubber bands to hold the battery in place- works very well. 


Rear- Programable LED's connected to a buzzer. Mine fell off after a good crash, glued it back and havent had a problem since.


Bottom- loud buzzer, and JST connector. I suggest swapping out for xt30, have always had bad luck with JST. 

PERFORMANCE:


1103 7500KV, nice solid motor, very well built 



The Q95 is a bullet, whether youre flying it FPV or line of sight, it will surprise you with its speed. I was caught off guard the first time I punched it, you just don't expect something so small to go so fast, and this was on 2S, I can only imagine what it would be like on a 3S, and 4S if youre trying to kill your drone.  Check out my videos when I upload it, it looks like it was sped up, but it's just that fast. You might think it would be hard to control, but it was actually really easy. Thanks to a fast F3 flight controller, youre able to run the board at 8k gyro sample rate, which can atone for a bad tune. Flight characteristics can be compared to how a larger size mini quad would feel. I think the only difference is when you let off the throttle, it doesn’t carry momentum as a larger quad would and so it will feel almost like you are hitting the brakes. Other than that, the power you are getting form the 1103 motors and the 2 inch props are more than sufficient for rolls, flips, power loops, or any other trick you have in your arsenal. 
I’m definitely happy with the Q95 going with 2inch props, if it fits why not right. Most of the other quads in this size, I see are using smaller 1935 props. I imagine it is due to size constrictions. It fits with room to spare on this one, the only minor issue was the power wires can get tangled up in the props. This is a simple fix, simply zip tie like so. 

CONNECTIVITY:


Manual is a bit confusing, all you need to know is short press changes channels, long press changes bands. Other than that, I found the 25mw sufficient to fly in and around my house (lots of obstructions), and flown in open air 90-100 meters. 





The Omnibus FC has a built in OSD but it's not wired up. The AIO VTX/ Camera that the Q95 uses does not have a VIN and VOUT cables, only power and ground. I would assume it is possible to get the OSD working, you would have to find out where the camera and VTX connections for vout and vin are and split it. 



The receiver comes separate, so you will have to solder it on yourself. I got the flysky version, but decided to use one of my frsky receivers, because I couldn't get the flysky working with my 4in1.

VERDICT:
I think what happened here is time ran out. The Q95 is with all intents and purposes an excellent quad, with top notch hardware, but it fell short in few different places. The OSD being included but not plugged in, the prop screws not being included, the included receiver not being soldered on, sloppy, rushed soldering. Doesn't it seem like they just ran out of time? 

Disregard these flaws for a second, and you have in front of you a superb little drone. on a 2S it already screams through the air, on 3S WOW! get outa town! Plenty of power for flips, rolls, power rolls, any trick you throw at it. I'm not the best at tuning, normally ill mess with the PIDS a bit, increase the rates, the PIDs at bit more, the rates a bit more... With the omnibus F3, and BLheli-S ESC's you can easily run at 8kgyro 4kpid. With powerful hardware, you no longer need to have a perfect tune to have a good flying quad. The Q95 has it’s flaws, in my opinion they are little flaws, but at the end of the day,  it’s a top notch performer, it’s light weight, looks d@mn good, and is fast as hell. To me, it’s an excellent choice. 

TIPS /MODS:


Power cables will get tangled up in the props, tie it down to each arm to get them out of the way

-Motor wires can also get caught up in the props, it would be a good idea to twist them, or tie them down 

-Camera is not really secured, the only thing holding it place are the two side plates, a good crash will send it flying. Use some double sided tape or you can put some dabs of hot glue on the camera section like me. Make sure its on the camera section and not the vtx, otherwise the glue might melt.

TUNE:





Fast, precise flips and rolls, I did notice a very small amount of prop wash when doing hard turns, or when free falling and then punching. Save them as profile 2 and 3 to see how you like them. 

SUGGESTIONS:
-Use an AIO Camera kit with VIN and Vout wires to allow for OSD
-Or simply enable the OSD from the factory 
-Secure the buzzer down better- this thing was almost falling off when i received it 
-secure the power cables down
-Secure the ESC wires- mine got loose and got tangled up in the props 
-Have better soldering- looks like it was rushed 
-Include prop screws - most people are not going to have these screws lying around, I feel bad for those receiving this drone and not being able to fly it because they don’t have the proper screws
-ditch the JST connectors
-Extend the side plates to protect the camera

I was looking at buying or building a similar sized quad that runs 2S and was considering this little quad, sorry if I missed this info but what sized lipo were you using (capacity and weight)? I was looking at something that could carry and run the Tattu 650mah 2S w\ XT30 ~43g (obviously I would need to swap the connector).
