Even stronger carbon fibre! Arms and base plate both 4mm thick! Mounting holes for 'print your own' antenna solutions! Rear standoffs that protect the frame! Really shiny titanium! Stunning good looks! [pauses video] I'm going to guess that the price will be $125. [presses play] But Chris is going to sell it at $95!! With the usual Armattan lifetime warranty! Once again, Armattan proves that when it comes to frames, there are few who can beat them. To take the Chameleon and switch the frame to removable arms and a slightly taller deck is a bold move. Combining improvements from the community with their own desire to keep pushing their designs forward and make a stronger, lighter and faster freestyle quad really shows how passionate Chris and his team are about this. I'm really impressed! I just hope that they have enough stock ready when they put the Rooster up in the shop! Does anyone have ideas about what motors, props etc they'd like to put in one of these? 19-Nov-2017, 12:51 PM wow... maybe I do have to give overslung another chance afterall... (oops, smiley missing) carl.vegas Current Quads: Operational: Diatone GT2 200 In need of repair: Bumble Bee, tehStein, Slightly modified Vortex 250 20-Nov-2017, 04:30 AM (This post was last modified: 21-Nov-2017, 06:55 AM by Tom BD Bad. Edit Reason: language ) I'm not so sure about the name though, they might as well have called it the Coq! How many people are going to try and put 12" props on it now, just so they can say "Carl.Vegas are you drooling over my 12 inch Coq!?" Actually I was drooling over the idea of a 5 inch **** TBH you know... I am into "minis" (something tells me we're going to get in trouble for this one... but I had to go along with it!... actually I am going to edit just in case.) I think with all the over the top high quality details that they've included in this thing they can call it whatever they want. carl.vegas Current Quads: Operational: Diatone GT2 200 In need of repair: Bumble Bee, tehStein, Slightly modified Vortex 250 21-Nov-2017, 05:06 PM carl.vegas Current Quads: Operational: Diatone GT2 200 In need of repair: Bumble Bee, tehStein, Slightly modified Vortex 250 If you guys have not ordered your frame yet, they are available for ordering. Shipping expected on Jan 12th. It likely be in high demand. 5in http://www.armattanquads.com/5/ 6in http://www.armattanquads.com/6-inch-3/ 30-Dec-2017, 07:07 PM It'll have to wait until my January wages arrive. This Christmas thing is always more expensive than you expect! So, what with the chances of getting hold of a Rooster frame now being something higher than zero, I'm starting to think about what I need to build mine. I'm going to be putting a Runcam Split in as the FPV camera. It will probably be built around a Bardwell F4 flight controller with some DYS Aria 35A BLHeli_32 ESCs. There will be an FrSky R-XSR as the receiver and probably a TBS Unify or Unify HV video transmitter. It's motors that I'm completely undecided on at the moment. I will be using the 5" frame. Has anyone here built one or have good suggestions for motors? (Preferably not overpriced celebrity branded ones.) 09-Jan-2018, 10:38 PM My frame is on its way. Armattan usually restock quickly, but everyone and their moms want one. So good luck. I have parts ready to go. FC Bardwell Lumenier 31A Blheli32 ESCs R-XSR or XSR Lumenier VTX Eagle 2 camera Hypetrain motors. Got my parts over the holidays, so got some discounts. The Hypetrains are supposed to be great freestyle motors. Not cheap though. 10-Jan-2018, 12:28 AM (09-Jan-2018, 09:30 PM)unseen Wrote: So, what with the chances of getting hold of a Rooster frame now being something higher than zero, I'm starting to think about what I need to build mine. BrotherHobby R5 2306 2450KV Love them! If they are in stock when you order a Rooster, either Armattan Oomph Titan or Armattan Oomph Velvet. 10-Jan-2018, 01:47 AM 10-Jan-2018, 08:51 AM There are so many great motors out there at the moment. I'm seriously tempted by some BrotherHobby motors, maybe the R5 2207 2400kv or the R5 2306 2450kv as I was amazed at the quality and power of the BH 1407 motors that I put on the Japalura. They are rather expensive though. Other contenders are the RCX NK2306 2400KV, which can be had for $13.99 if you buy them without a warranty, or maybe the RCINPOWER GTS2305 2450KV which are very respected and can be had for $20.99 with free shipping from MyRCMart. One odd choice would be the AMAX Inno 2305A 2550KV motors for $17.99. When QuadMcFly tested them, his comment was "the results here blew me away". The Armattan Oomph Titans are also very tempting as I'd prefer motors that don't have insane current draw. TOO MANY MOTORS!! |
