UPDATE:

ARGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG.

Ok, that out of the way.

This frame is a friggin nightmare..LMAO

I have built 130 sized quads easier than this thing.

The whole thing goes together really nice as dry build., But start adding parts and that is where things go pear shaped.
The Armattan Armadillo PDB is a structural part of the whole frame, but sadly the PDB is ermmm..SHIT!. No filters on it and lines all over video. Not enough room to fit a Line filter inside either.

I installed a 12 volt and a 5 volt Pololu and they are fine but best to mount them under the PDB, otherwise you cannot fit the RX and vtx inside. The lipo strap has to slide under the FC and over the PDB which essentially makes the spare battery pins useless.

But, I am not a quitter, this has only made me more determined to make it all work and fit to my liking.

Still a WIP.

Will do, Also note that you really need to widen out the esc holes at the rear of the left and right side plates..Dremel time.  the esc cables will fit as standard but just a bit too much kink back to the - pad on the PDB.

The FPV cam bracket is great but the rubber inserts you use are not that great as they do not move freely to angle the cam, a bit of vaseline on the rubber helps, but I feel will only become a dirt magnet in due course.

Once I have it built I will share pics. Big Grin

Another update:

I have concluded that for me, the default frame will not fit my needs, or the hardware inside the way it comes as standard. I have no doubts others have done it, as did I, but I did not like it.

I set about having the Lipo on top and still have a gopro as my HD cam. Thanks to Westers47 in Thingiverse for this beauty, http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1741839

Can mount your vtx inside and still mount your 1300mAh 4S lipo on top. Which you will see in a moment.

The PDB, Trust me when I say if you plan on using any Pololu's solder them in on the underside of the PDB.

Underside of PDB..For those with a keen eye, note the use of Insulation tape around the holes top and bottom of the pic. Some of the black coating on the PDB was scratched off and revealed copper traces..WTF?  Also note liquid tape on the pololu's.

Also, good idea to label which one is 12volt and which one is 5Volt..again, make note of liquid tape on pololu's

Anyways.

Everything works in it and fits pretty good now. Still have to fit the Buzzer and lipo alarm, but that is easy.

Here are a couple of pics showing what the finished quad will/Should look like when I am done.

Biggles.....I may have missed it and if you already answered this question, I apologize. Is there any particular reason that you are using a LHPC ant instead of a right?  Just personal preference or is there an engineering/scientific reason for it?

Hey Chris,

Just a personal preference, well, to be honest, it is what I ended up with.  Back in my early days I was like most of us and just bought antennas, and the whole rpsma, sma thing had me all confused, as did the LHCP/RHCP thing.  Originally I had RHCP, but bought a heap of antennas which ended up being LHCP, so I stuck with them.

There is no advantage using LHCP over RHCP at all, except maybe offers a bit more headroom if flying with others who may be on a different antenna set.

I finished mine yesterday went for maiden today. It flies very good even with stock betaflight pids. Had some minor issues with the vtx mounting but so far so good. Also I replaced the black side screws with some larger hex blue anodized ones. Setup

DYS se2205 2300kv
XM20a esc
Xracer f303 v3
Runcam swift
Ts5840 vtx
King Kong 5040x3
And a cheapo semi stripped dipole

Do anyone of your hs1177 vibrate while flying..
I cant just get rid of it..even after tightening the camera to the mount properly there is still some slack..which is causing the camera to vibrate. Thinking to put some hot glue and secure it? Any of you facing this problem?

Yep, mine does it as well.  The fpv cam mount frankly is rubbish.

The Frame looks great, is a bitch to build, but for me, Armattan dropped the ball on this one.  Too many little things really erkkkk me about it.

Far better frames out there, the Tweaker 5 inch, ZMR X210, QAV 210, Airpix AP-5 and then some.

I will be stripping mine down and using the parts in another build..LOL

Biggles are you keeping only the pololu doing the stabilization or are you adding a capacitator to the frame ? (to clean the noise for vtx / cam/ osd ?
by the photos it should have enough space to squeeze one in.
All the best
