Anyone trying the new 2.5watt vtxs?
#1
I have been thinking of getting a Foxeer 2.5watt vtx but the Rush Solo Tank Max looks better and has a built in cooling fan.
The Rush is 2 grams heavier and they have been making vtx much longer than Foxeer so I think Rush makes a better vtx, plus I have several Rush vtx and not a single problem.
I’m leaning towards Rush but thought I’d ask if anyone has used Foxeer or both for comparison.

I dont have all the answers. Im not RF engineer.

why.

Its huge amount of RF noise. Like a broadcast tower.
That 2.5W is certainly 10W+ electricity.

Is it you guys flying through 7 floor underground parking?

I have a foxeer on my 6” build and it is one of the better analog vtx's I've owned. I cannot speak of the rush vtx from personal experience, but they all seem to be similar in performance. I have a couple of rush solo vtx's with similar quality video. You may want to go with whatever of the two is cheaper and/or easier.

I need another analog vtx like I need another hole in the head.
I’ll admit it’s because it’s one of the most powerful vtx made that I wanted it.

I have no hands on experience with either, but if I was going to buy a vtx that powerful, I’d definitely go with the one with the built in fan.
Dangerous operations.

Disclaimer: I don’t know wtf I’m talking about.
I wish I could get the smell of burnt electronics out of my nose.

I didn’t think I’d end up saying this but after flying digital especially Walksnail I don’t know if I want to invest in analog or high end analog equipment.
A Cat 3 micro starlight camera is 50.00,Rush max tank 70, and a good antenna 10-20 so 130-140.00 or a WS V2 with Pro camera for 160.00 with a POS antenna.
For extreme long distance or doing crazy bashing analog makes sense but even using 60fps with my Orqa goggles with WS does much better than I was expecting.

I agree, walksnail is pretty good. If you want long range you want 1.2ghz anyways. A 600mw 1.2vtx will out range a 2.5w 5.8ghz vtx every day of the week including Sunday. If you are staying under 3 miles out digital is worth the slight increase in cost.
