Angry Oskie Micro Quad
#61
Where did you guys manage to find m2 25mm nylon bolts? I'm thinking of just ordering stainless steel ones instead. The rigidity improvement may be worth the weight.

I bought them from ebay.

I'm still waiting for the 25mm M2 bolts that I ordered from eBay to arrive. I put my Angry Oskie together with some 20mm steel M2 bolts, but they are just far too heavy at 1.6g for four of them.

A link would be awesome, I looked around and couldn't find any Nylon m2 25mm bolts.

I ordered steel 25m ones in the meantime. I was hoping they wouldn't be to heavy.

edit:
If your in the USA and ordered more than enough I could buy some off you... Help you recoup costs and I wouldn't have to wait a month from china?

dm me if interested

This probably won't help you as it's a link to a UK eBay seller. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/50-pack-of-M2...0379212994

I'm based in Sweden, so even if my bolts had arrived, it would take the same time to send some to the USA as it would for you to order from the UK or China.

Thanks, I just ended up ordering these guys...

Im assembling with steel bolts in the meantime. Switching them out later should be super easy.

I had no ability to get long nylon screws fast, so I glued together nuts by pairs. Now I can double the length with 15 mm screws, that was with racerstar F3D8 and 4A esc. Please check attached picture.

Question 1: can I get voltage with telemetry? My Taranis QX7S with last OpenTX shows telemetry sensors from RX, but there is no voltage. I've seen somewhere in fishpepper.de about voltage pad, but I can't find it on my cloned version.

Question 2: any difference netween last betaflight 3.2.3 and 3.1.2 in stock?

On your question 1:
I used Cells and Cells- in my Taranis telemetry settings (I'm still on 2.0.20  - with the later versions you have to do the calculation thing after the sensors are recognised).
There is also a current (mA) readout on this Fishpepper copied board, but I lost approx 0,05 to 0,1 Volt because of the shunt and that was too much on a 1S lipo.

Nice hack lol Big Grin
I haven't been able to make the voltage monitoring work on mine (clone board from BG). I usually just fly the quad until it's unable to take off, and the voltage usually settles at about 3.5V when it cools down.
I think the main upgrade in BF3.2 is dynamic filter. But for a tiny quad like this I don't think it makes much of a difference. But upgrade it anyway if possible.

For question 2, check out Joshua Bardwell's Youtube channel. He did a whole series of videos on Betaflight 3.2! It was really great! Smile

1. Moved to last BF firmware. Bardwell recommends to use 4/4 khz looptime for F3, because during full throttle with 8khz looptime it can get high spikes of CPU load and unstable flying. Flying is smooth with stock pids.

2. I succeeded to adjust voltage telemetry on Taranis (VFAS)- check attached photos. I've used info from the Project Blue Falcon - finally it was a piece of cake. Now I have low voltage sound alarm Smile

3. I was able to get only 0705 motors - quad is very "angry" for indoor use (for real it is Angry Oskie) - will try to fly outdoors tomorrow. I broke one arm of PLA printed frame today, recovered with glue, but starting to think about carbon frame. Any ideas where to make one?

Thanks!
P.S. English is not my native language - sorry for mistakes.

I got my AngryOskie finished a few days ago.

I had some white props that I wanted to use, but they kept on spinning off the shafts of the Sunnysky 0705 motors. These ones stick, but I'm unimpressed with the 0705 motors and these props. The whole quad weighs 33g without the 14g 600mA/h 65C Turnigy Graphene cell I was powering it with.

It needs nearly 70% throttle just to hover!

I tried with some quad bladed 40mm props and they needed even more throttle to hover.

Is it worth cutting down some Ladybird or Hubsan 107 props?

I cut down a set of ladybirds to 42mm to use with 0720 motors on a modified Eachine H8, and they didn't do very well, I think they are a bit heavy to be any shorter.

Mine has total weight of 36 grams with 300mah battery and 26 without - hovers with 50% throttle and is very fast indoors.
Remove prop guard and get smaller battery.
