Update: After some more testing with 20000KV motors and 31mm props, i am still not happy with the result. It can fly, but performance is not satisfying, it feels very sluggish, and it's lacking power and flight time. So I've decided to ditch the 48mm design and just stick with the 59mm. I think the 15000KV with 40mm props is the sweet spot for power and efficiency. I've also designed a prop guard for the frame, which is removable and can be printed separately. As well as a frame for the 0705 motors. I will release the STL files shortly this week on thingiverse. I might build this one one day. I was wondering how long the glass panels in the cabinet by the doorway in the front room will last. • Posts: 5,315 Threads: 672 Likes Received: 3,155 in 1,743 posts Likes Given: 2,030 Joined: Jan 2016 Reputation: 139 (09-Nov-2017, 06:47 PM)unseen Wrote: Great flying! LOL good that you reminded me... there're full of wine and whisky in that cabinet I really shouldn't fly near there! • Posts: 8 Threads: 1 Likes Received: 2 in 2 posts Likes Given: 1 Joined: Nov 2017 Reputation: 0 (06-Nov-2017, 05:31 PM)Oscar Wrote: Update: After some more testing with 20000KV motors and 31mm props, i am still not happy with the result. These are the motors I was thinking of using. I look forward to hearing what you think of them. But I have made an interesting discovery. I have pushed those motors on a fully charged 2s pack on a prop cut down to 40mm and it only got a little warm on almost 9 Amps! 10000kv 1103 racerstars were seriously overheating at that point, great sign Motor mount has different weight so on 0 throttle it showed 8 grams, that means it pulled 85g of thrust Table shows: g, V, A Full thrust test coming soon. Please let us know your results and reccomendation for motors asap! I'm ready to pull the trigger on these guys. Have your fc & cam/vtx recomendations changed? Or would you just go with whats linked on thingiverse. Okay I've just tested the Sunnysky 0705 15000kv on my quad, but I apologise for being unable to provide any specific numbers on performance, I can only tell you how I feel flying different motors. - the SS motors are extremely noisy! not sure if I have defective motors, they have a very loud and high pitch noise - The SS motors feel a bit more powerful and more responsive than the 0703 motors, but I get only 70%-80% flight time; That could be caused by the heavier weight, they each weighs at 3g compared to the 0703's 1.9g - the motor wires have coating on them that prevents them from taking solder! you will need to remove the coating if you shorten the wires, it's a PITA. I still recommend the 0703 motors over the 0705... But if you absolutely have no other choice, the 0705 would work just fine but prepare for the noise!
