Confirmed, to use tiny whoop props (31mm props) with the 0703 motors, you will need 0.95mm drill bit to enlarge the holes.

Tested these tiny whoop props... wow man... they are really loud! LOL Big Grin

Ok, cool. I'm going to be building one of the small ones up with 20000kv 0703 motors, which will bring it more in line with the rpm of tiny whoop motors. if only bg had them in stock...

Yea I think that would be the optimal KV for 31mm props... they've been out since Aug!

Just some updates:

After flying more with 31mm props... I think they might be better with 20000KV motors... with 15000KV motors they just seem to be lacking power... Cannot recommend this setup now...
I will try the 20000KV motors once they are back in stock.

However the 15000KV works really well with 40mm props, so much power and it's actually more fun than my 8mm brushed motors...

I am also working on a prop guard for these frames, should be testing them this weekend Smile

Hey Oscar, I just double checked the length of the H8 mini props and they measure about 44mm, will they fit?
The H8 mini has so much more punch from the same motors as the E010, thought they might better suit the 15000Kv motors?

Hi Tom, no they have to be 40mm Smile
get some spare, they only cost a few dollars

How do you think the 40mm blades would work with 20000KV? I have 10000KV and 20000KV sitting here (as well as the fishpepper/ racerstar fc & esc) I also have several nanotech 500 mAh 1S batteries, I just haven’t got around to building anything with them, my original plan was to make a whoop style quad but now I’m attracted to your design because it’s so cute &compact, any possibility of adding a camera mount for the FX797 or is it just too big?

I don't know I haven't had a chance to test the 20000KV motors yet (out of stock)...
I have plan of making a prop guard for this frame too so it can definitely compete with the tiny whoop Big Grin
I think the FX797 is a bit too big for this frame, the width of the camera has to be small enough to fit between the 2 diagonal screws of the FC/ESC

I do have some of the tri-blade 40mm from the tiny7, I just have 10 sets of H8 mini props and nothing to use them with!

Yes the Tiny7 40mm triblade is what I am using too. The frame is designed to be as small as possible, so it cannot take any larger props unfortunately Smile

Cool, I've ordered the little AIO and it turns out I actually have 15000KV not 20000KV.. really looking forward to building this (and an optional prop guard is a good idea!)

Hi,

I'm new and I usually follow this forum most of the time. I'm French so please apology my bad English Tongue   . Today by reading Oscar's tread, I decide to talk a little of my experience with 0703 motors from Racerstar. A bad one...

I was excited when I recieved my first 20000kv motors few mounth ago and finally sad at the end. Let me explain : The main problem of this motors is the bell not correctly instaled, sometimes rotor is touching stator, causing a LOT of vibrations and overheating ! At the begining I thought by soft mounting the FC board it would be enought but NO...A BIG drift issue appeared few seconds after I started to fly!!

I first tried to built my own tiny brushless woop by adapting a jjrc h36 frame with a carbon fiber plate made by myself with original 31 mm propellers. Inside : ESCs are A1S 3amp, Eachine tiny F3 brushed converted for brushless and a TX01 AIO camera.

At the begining I was glad of the results but few flights later I gave up with this 20000 kv motors. My lipo batteries (Nanotech 260 and 300 mah) inflate a lot and were always very hot. I decided to test my other brand lipos and all of them inflates except Brainergy 350 mah... a little too much weight but it flews. I burned an esc too in a crash... Well my conclusion with lipos is that those motors drop too much amps. I wasn't able to fix the drift issue too. : Sad Some poeple will tell me it's not important with ACRO flights but the problem is that I'm still learning on a simulator Big Grin  )

Here a short video I did for "souvenir" :

So disapointed with 20000 kv that I ordered 10000kv motors ! Once again a big mistake, Throttle 80% to the max to start to fly... not enought KV... Sad tried to recycle this motors with 40mm props on  another frame but not super fast too, more than 60% throttle to start to fly.

After some other builts, some issues with a lot of motors (0703 and 0705 motors), fighting with customer service all the time to have replacement, I finally gave up with this kind of motors. I successfully built 2 quads, one with 0705 15000 kv (65 mm props !)and another one with Fishpepper frame inspiration with 0705 15000kv (56 mm props).

Now I've heard several sellers sold some 0705 or 0706 motors with ball bearing, I think that's a good news! But after all my problems I'll wait and see before purchasing it.

By the way, I've read on a BG forum they will probably not product anymore the 0703 20000 kv or the 15000kv ( It has been deleted I think, I can't find it anymore). I hope There will be a ball bearing version too in the futur.

yea the Racerstar 0703 motors are pretty bad in terms of quality, but too bad no other manufacturers are doing this size at the moment.
I have asked DYS and Sunnysky about it and see if they would be interested to step in Smile

That is disappointing and I've read other comments online that confirm these issues, also with no more being produced, if one motor goes then all 4 will need to replaced, hoping the Sunnysky 0705 and 0706 ball bearing motors will be better although they are looking quite expensive EDIT: actually only USD $9 at GB so maybe not so bad.
