I am not sponsored or supported by anyone for the reviews I do, everything I use I purchase myself.
So, with that out of the way, I want to share my views on the Airpix AP-5 quad. (lol, in my eagerness to build it I never took any happy snaps)
I purchased the kit from http://www.airpixfpv.com/ap180/4df845ae-...51708a9add for $80
Aussie's can buy it here, https://www.multirotorshop.com.au. Tell Bernard Biggles sent you. (and that way he will charge you more..LOL) Kidding.
The kit arrives in a nicely package satchel.
All the parts are high end 3K pure Toray carbon fibre, and the hardware is high quality steel and aluminium.
This is an X-Frame design and the arms are all interchangable, which makes things much nicer if you happen to break one, which while possible is unlikely as they are 4mm thick.
The frame goes together really easy and everything has a nice snug fit, no sloppiness at all..very nice.
Tech Specs:
I have several box like X frame designed quads but the AP-5 wins hands down.
There really isn't a whole lot more to say about it, it just works, very stylish, very tough when built.
My Specs:
Airpix AP-5 frame
RCX 2205-2633kV motors (does suck the life out of the lipo..but worth every second)
SPracing F3 FC
30amp LB esc's
Matex PDB
Hawkeye VTX
HS1177 FPV cam
Dal TJ5045 props
Matex Hard wired lipo alarm
4S 1300mAh Bonka batteries
Foxeer 5.8 LHCP antenna
Frsky TFR4 RX
Futaba 14SG radio
Here is my Maiden Flight. (and yes, it is my maiden flight, Guy (Airpix owner) even asked me if I was sure this was it's Maiden.)
