Airhog 180 Mini Quad Build
#1
The Quad weights over 600g including GoPro4 and Lipo. It's a bit on the heavy side due to the meaty Airhog frame, but it doesn't affect agility much thanks to the high KV 2206 motors.
My next plan is to test this quad on some triblads props, but I am not sure if the 20A ESC could hold up to the challenge, might need 30A for that. Some thrust test might be needed before making the change.

Parts List:

Flight Controller FC: Naze32 Rev5
Motor: Dragonfly 2206 2800KV motors
Propeller: HQ 4045 Bullnose
ESC: Littlebee 20A ESC
PDB: Demon Core PDB
Radio Receiver RX:
Video Transmitter VTX:
OSD: Micro MinimOSD with MWOSD 1.4 firmware
LiPo: Dronelab 4S 1500mah
HD Camera: GoPro4/Xiaomi Yi

Here is a detail build log:

Here is a quick test flight with it:

Hey Oscar
I have just put this motor and esc combo on my tweaker frame. Did you need to adjust any blheli setting on the little bees or do you run them default? I have damped light on but i am wondering if motor timing need to be increased. Going for a maiden tomorrow :-)

Hey Oscar, I run my Hog180 with the Dragonfly 2800kv's and KISS 24 amp esc's and DAL 4045 triples, never once do the motors or esc's come down hot..heck, not even warm and that is with a lot of full throttle punchouts and fast flying, and in 35C to 40C Temps.

I use med-high timing on mine... damped light on the rest just default Smile
works well so far!

Triblades on those motor?! damn Smile
It's really a pity that i don't currently have any 4" triblades props... otherwise i would do some thrust test on them... oh well maybe in the future Smile

Thanks for the info Oscar. I am a bt concerned about my motors. Had them running with no props yesterday and they were getting warm!

Don't run them without props for too long RPM too high could damage ur esc or motor hehe

Yeah was just a quick test but i guessed it was because they were getting no air flow from the props. Dal 4045 tri blade have just arrived Big Grin

I wonder about how did you connect Vbat on Demon Core PDB: to the VBAT output or to the main +/- solder pads? I'm asking because in Demon Core PDB manual: "When the need VBAT for voltage measurement, connect to the main solder pads ".
Do you have photos of your connections on PDB maybe?

Yes, anywhere on the +/- main solder pads... where you soldered your ESC's...
