Hi, all, I'm 57 years old, still 16 in the brain, lol, and did training on a Syma xc5-1, was great, crashed heaps still going, now I've got the bug, after researching, for a week I'm thinking of buying either the emax nighthawk 280 pro, ARF, $200AUD or the eachine falcon 250 ARF $250AUD, these are within my budget, for the transmitter I like the Radiolink T9 i can get it for just over a $100AUD, with the receiver, I'm willing to have a go setting all up myself, so could you experienced guys give me some advice on these combinations, thx looking forward to your reply,

if you are more comfortable buying a RTF kit, these model should work pretty well, although I would personally prefer to build one from scratch myself Just a bit more flexible when you need to upgrade or repair as you know the aircraft better. I owned the Emax Nighthawk Pro briefly, it was pretty easy to setup, and flies fine. The components are not great, and it's a pain to troubleshoot or repair as everything is built on one PCB, but you won't have the hassle building one if you don't have the time to research and DIY. As for the Radio, I would recommend getting the Taranis, it's twice the price, but you are getting more than twice the features and it's a lot easier to re-sell even if you decide to quite the hobby. Thx Oscar, I looked at the Taranis but way above budget, more expensive than Drone, lol, have you suggestions for a rtf model drone for beginer, I would like to build my own but my electronic skills are not good, once again thx for reply (29-Mar-2016, 11:55 PM)Dizzy7779 Wrote: Thx Oscar, I looked at the Taranis but way above budget, more expensive than Drone, lol, have you suggestions for a rtf model drone for beginer, I would like to build my own but my electronic skills are not good, once again thx for reply it is a pricey, but it would be good investment... anyone who come from something else to a taranis will tell you that LOL Sorry my knowledge with RTF multicopters is very limited. Why don't you do some research, make a list of RTF you can find and report back, we can go through the spec with you. 30-Mar-2016, 05:13 AM (30-Mar-2016, 01:32 AM)Oscar Wrote: it is a pricey, but it would be good investment... anyone who come from something else to a taranis will tell you that LOL My eyes have gone square from researching, but I will continue, thx for help 30-Mar-2016, 02:44 PM Just wanted to note, I have an At9 and have been very happy with it. It does everything I can imagine I would need it to do. I would like to have a Taranis at some point, but right now can't think of a feature it has that I really need. Eventually I'll upgrade, but plan on holding on until there is a controller with open source features like the taranis, but with an updated feel and quality. I did buy my quad with the AT9 for only 180usd as a bundle, so if I had bought the controller separately I would have strongly considered the Taranis, especially since it has more options on the receivers. The r6d and r9d receivers have been good performers for me though. I just depinned an r6d for my next build, going to solder direct for ppm, but it is really small after depinning and will tuck nicely into my Nighthawk 200. 30-Mar-2016, 07:51 PM Ive heard great things about the Nighthawk, but the fact that everything is in one PCB doesnt seem very appealing when we get down to troubleshooting or repairs. The falcon looks good: http://www.banggood.com/Eachine-Falcon-2...26335.html But, to be honest, I'm married to the ZMR. there are a couple of ARF/RTF kits around the net. But, as Oscar said, I preffer to build it myself. This kit looks decent: http://www.fpvmodel.com/zmr250-250mm-min..._g762.html |
