16 My office is right off of Miramar Rd and has been for the past 25 years so we are very familiar with the show each year, we actually used to get a box and invite clients. We also used to go up on the roof and watch them practice but everyone in the office is over it now. They practice every day the week before the show and they fly very low and it sometimes sounds like they are landing on the building. I'm always out in the field so usually miss them but still like to go out and watch them if I'm around.

65 I worked in that area and yes...they get LOUD!!! Even indoors, the noise can be hard to communicate over. We were on Dowdy yesterday and had a front row as they leveled out to set up for their next maneuver. Less than 200' directly over us.
Have you even camped off the canals in Imperial? They are waivered to go supersonic over the open desert there as they head to the Chocolate Mountain practice range. The first time scared me...two silver flashes went overhead at about 500'. About 3 seconds later we were treated to their sound! I would actually enjoy a flight in an F18, but my friend is now retired from the Marine Corp and I missed my chance. He was an instructor...the same that allowed me the SNJ-6 stick time!
