A fail when testing. 2 failsafes on 2 different quads plus amp meter issue :)
#1
Weird issues and hopefully I know what is causing at least the failsafes

I few 2 packs on my basher quad with no issues. FYI the second pack was my 5s test but not knowing what amps it was drawing limited that test (another story). Very noticeable difference flying it on 5s compared to 4s. It really launches. It was actually sick as my kids would say Smile.

Anyway I was in a place that is boring for the basher as it is more for obstacles so brought out Brian who is good for cruising. On its third pack, so pack 5 of the day I started getting telemetry lost messages and all of a sudden it said telemetry lost a second later the RXLOSS came up and the quad failsafed. I was up really high so didn't stress too much as crossfire always recovers. Well it didn't.

Retrieved the quad and no real damage. Went fair enough must have a loose antenna connection as on the previous pack i'd had a pretty good crash.

I had one more pack left so I brought back out the basher. Was throwing it around and then it started to give the telemetry lost messages. Went o-oh this is weird so started heading back. All of a sudden it failsafed and unfortunately broke an arm in the crash.

The only thing that has changed on the radio is I put on a 3s Lipo plus I was at almost the exact location both times.  Will test again when it stops raining with the normal battery that comes with it, then test that same spot. Bumma is it didn't start doing it until the 5th pack so confidence will be zero until I've put a lot of packs through it Sad

Anyway a snipit of what happened for those interested.

there was some problems with dynamic mw output, update the modul and receiver to 3.0 beta could probably help?
because you wrote it came on 5s trys, a bigger cap could probably help

I thought Crossfire never failsafed :-O

Do the blackbox logs give any clues?

That must be some kind of issue with the electronics on the quad and not with the Crossfire connection, surely?

At least you were in an open field and not above trees or in the mountains. I hope you find the cause of the issue because it's unknown things like this that start to make you lose trust in your equipment.

My suspicion is the transmitter as two quads are doing the same thing.

I'm just charging up a heap of batteries and reverting the transmitter back to the standard battery. Fingers crossed that is all it is. Pain in the neck as I hate set backs as I am supposed to be trialling 5s and different prop pitches not mucking about with something that up until now was bullet proof Sad
