On Screen Display - Display information from the aircraft onto your receiver screen. Such as: Battery voltage, Flight Timer, Transmitter Signal Strength. Ect, Ect.

If it is not clear, the spektrum satellite is a very tiny receiver for spektrum RXs Smile

Ok so my Wizard arrived. I was actually smart and ordered an OSD with it, as a few of the reviews said to do so. I've got the wiring diagram for it, so once it is all hooked up it will display all that info onto my FPV screen? I've put the link below for the OSD I bought.

The osd have many options if you flash it with mwosd firmware. I'm not sure if it comes pre-flashed from banggood, but if not you will have to flash it. Normally I use a FTDI adapter for this, but I think it is possible to activate a serial passthrough on the FC so you can use that one instead. A word of advice, be very careful when soldering the osd. It is very easy to lift the pads when soldering in my experience.

I have two of these OSD from banggood - I don't think it comes flashed with MWOSD (I actually didn't check, but they usually come with a much more basic software if any at all).  I agree about the soldering - the pads do come up easily and it's trashed if one comes up.

Serial passthrough works for configuring, but not flashing.  You will need an FTDI adapter if you want to flash different software (like MWOSD - recommended): http://www.banggood.com/FT232RL-FTDI-USB...17226.html

[Image: Uf79Z6Il.jpg]If you don't mind I will jump in on this thread for my first post.  I also have just received the Wizard X220 and will be using my DX6I.  I fly not very often, but have the Blade 350qx, Aurora 68, they are both damaged but still flying and FPV sometimes.  Beginner here, used to fly FW a little.  My LOS with the quads usually make a left pattern, LOL.

My question, will the rx that came with the radio work in this quad?  It connects to the box that controls the servos.  I can power it up and bind this way but does not control the drone (X220)??
Maybe there is a connector I can use on the FC that this RX will plug into?

I don't know if the FC has a connector for the sat, but even if, you'll need to solder the power wire to the 3.3V pad separately. The connector would provide 5V which could kill the sat.

I can do that, will have to find the 3.3v pad.  Do we know for sure that this SAT will work as a RX?

The satellite *will* work as Rx if you can find a 3.3v pad. If there is not a spektrum socket on the wizard (I don't think there is), you can wire signal and ground to the SBUS port and then power to 3.3v.

The wizard uses the sp3 f3 FC clone. It has a few 3.3v pads.

I included the manual for you.

[Image: Ep8ZnZNl.jpg]I found the 3.3v pad on the back, used that for power and uart3 pads (gnd and rx (signal)).  Went into betaflight CLI, did software bind (set spektrum_sat_bind=9) was able to bind to my DX6i.
Saved bind=0 to go normal.

RX shows steady now after bind, but no matter what I set in betaflight, no receiver bars.  I set uart3 serial RX and configured spektrum.  Beginning to wonder if this sat will work in this configuration.  Have ordered a diversity, but playing mean while with all possible settings.

According to that diagram, the uart3 headers the + is 3.3v, I checked it and thought it was 5v, but my vom smallest scale is 60v dc.  Would have saved me some time looking for the 3.3v pad on back.

Thanks for the manual.

Try turning on transmitter before plugging in USB (or plugging in battery).

Just a side note, since you bound it before with the big rx, you wouldn't have needed to bind again with the FC.

Still no go. When I hit the receiver tab, the color bars for channels briefly flash on then disappear. In modes nothing moves with channel 5 or anything else.

I did try first after soldering the SAT to FC to run with the previous bind, but didn't respond (no light).
