8" X8 Tuning
#1
Hey everyone,

I have a JohnnyFPV Banshee 8" X8 drone that I crashed and need to replace my motors.

Do you reckon I have to retune my Cinelifter if it originally had these motors:

and because they are going out of production, I put these on:

https://www.getfpv.com/t-motor-cine-seri...155kv.html

By my expectations, it should fly even better as T-Motor bearings and magnets are really high quality from my experience.

The only huge noticable difference is that the magnets are stronger on the Cine66. (Takes more force to spin the rotor and kind of jumps in steps compared to the Performance FPV motor)

PIDs and Filters

(For some reason I cannot attach attachments through my phone)

Any help appreciated
Thank you

the notchiness of tve magnets itself can be very different - but it doesnt tell us anything about their performance or anything.

i would leave everything and do a short hoover test - land and check the motortemp. if tjey feel just warm i would fly around and test again.
if it flys nice and the motors doesnt heatup excessive, i would use the actual tune.

if they get very hot, decrease the values by thw multiplier slider in pid.

Should I test hover and fly with the tune it has, or go to some kind of defaults? The thing I am most concerned about is getting a flyaway or something, because to me this tune seems very very aggressive. But when I contacted them and asked if it can fly with different payloads (no camera or RED Komodo camera) they said it's supposed to fly the same. Maybe I am just comparing the PIDs with 5" tuning too much...

Opinion?

this isnt agressive for the size - power to weight ratio - it woul be on a 5inch.

i would progress right from that tune.

the otherway, lower the pids and increase them step by step should work either.

no fear about flyaway, runaway protection does jump in pretty fast.

if it would be a 5inch i would suggest to step to the defaults and increase - but as these values arent agressive for the build i wouldnt fear if the motortemp is checked well
