75C vs 95C should I get 75C it is a lot cheaper?

Hi Guys,

I want to get few LiPos for my 250 drone which I've just finished building. At the moment I only have 3S Gens Ace Tattu 1550mAh 11.1V 75C battery. I was thinking of getting Gens Ace Tattu R-Line 1300mAh 14.8V 4S 95C but they are quite expensive, £30 per battery but recently I've stumbled upon this bundle pack of 5 Acehe 1300mAh 14.8V 4S 75C batteries at the price of £88 so it’s £17.60 per battery.

Question 1) Are Acehe batteries any good, I don’t want to spend money on some junk?

The only other difference between these batteries is that Tattu is 95C and Acehe is 75C.

Question 2) Is it the higher C rating really worth the extra money??? considering my drone specs are quite demanding…

Question 3) I’ve done some calculations below but how important it really is in real life?
C = (4x Motor Amps draw) / LiPo A
75%  Throttle C = (4x 21.3A) / 1.3A = 85.2A / 1.3A = 65.5
88% Throttle C = (4x 30A) / 1.3A = 120A / 1.3A = 92.3
100%  Throttle C = (4x 36.5A) / 1.3A = 146A / 1.3A = 112.3

Thanks

If those current values is from static thrust tests for your motors, you will probably not get even close to those numbers when flying. The C value is just gimmick, and I would rather look at battery tests on youtube and/or grab some batteries with a good review (Not the banggood reviews as those are worth s**t most of the time). The tattu R-line is considered to be a good battery, but I dont know anything about the other. Infinity 1500mah graphenes from banggood have some good reviews as well if you are looking for some cheap batteries. Joshua Bardwell has some pretty good battery test on Youtube.

Acehe is actually an UK based brand, it's a trusted brand (many pilots I know use them and have good feedback, but I personally haven't tried them). I've spoken to the owner before and he's very modest and honest about his product. So I think they are worth a try, but don't take my words for it though, like Oyvinla said, do your research and make your decision Smile

To be honest 95C rating is crap, don't solely judge battery by the number on their package, they can print any number they want and it doesn't cost them anything! The tattu R-line are good battery for sure, but it's just not 95C as advertised Smile in fact I don't think there is any battery on the market can achieve that high C rating yet Big Grin

I've read that these 95C numbers are supposedly a bull… some people already mentioned it here and there and I've just watched J.Bardwells most recent battery video, and he confirms it that C rating is basically crap so one step forward. He was quite exited about these Infinity Graphenes but there is no reviews of them yet at the time he was still waiting for them to arrive. Maybe I'll ask him in the comments about it.

I am currently running the Tattu 4S 1550mah 75C (Standard Edition --> there is also a racing line with exactly the same specs for a higher price, which I don’t get) and I am super happy with these. I think that J. Bardwell was also mentioning those in one of his videos. You can also check out his data sheets on his YT channel.

I've ended up buying 5 of these infinity graphene 1500 90c (ppl say they're probably not 90c) but this doesn't matter, I haven't tried them yet as I have some minor repair to do first. I paid £19.24 each with delivery. At first I wanted 1300 but some say that you might get some slight sag on throttle punches so I went withe 1500 and also they're only 15g heavier.

Edit: yes I've watched Joshua's videos on batteries

I was just doing some research here and using their formulas to check the theoretical discharge rate of the stock battery provided with the SPC 95X (that I am quite exited about) which is a 3s 350mAh rated at 80C, the maths say that it can be safely discharged at 28A in 45 seconds, and I find it pretty hard to believe that it wouldn't be really hot after that.

I guess that 2s and up batteries require balance charging because of differences in the actual C ratings of individual cells?

I have flown with Tattu 1300 45c, 1550 75c and 1550 95c (R-Lines).
I definitely notice the additional punch from 95c, but it's not a difference worth the price. The only reason I have the 95c ones is I did a group buy with people and paid nearly cost for them.
I love my R-Lines, but if paying full price, I would go for the 75c.
