3" Ummagawd Acrobrat
#1
After seeing Oscar's review of the 'Brat, thought I'd post a couple pics of mine as I used mostly different components and wanted to show how versatile this frame is.  I put this in the micro brushless section but really, it's closer to a mini. I ran a couple packs through it last night just LOS in my backyard and it flies more like a 5" quad, and got almost 6 minutes flight time being easy on the throttle using a 4S 850 mah lipo.  Parts list as follows:

1407 3500kv iForce motors
HobbyWing X-Rotor Nano stack with F4 flight controller & 20A 4-in-1 ESC
FRSky R-XSR receiver
AKK FX3 Ultimate VTX
AXII Stubby VTX antenna
Caddx Turtles FPV/HD mini camera
Rotor-X 3040Y props
Continued the red theme with TPU motor protector/soft mounts, front bumpers and rear antenna mount

Nice build Thumbs Up I ordered one of these frames yesterday and it arrived just a couple of hours ago Big Grin I know it's supposed to be a bit bigger than a traditional 3" but first impressions are that it does look quite a small frame in the packet. I have no idea what FC, ESCs or motors I'm going to put on mine yet but it will be something to keep me busy with over winter months Smile

I'll be interested to hear your views on the Caddx Turtle because I was considering one of those over the Runcam Split Mini 2 which I've read some questionable comments about.

I haven't played with the Turtle yet but I can tell you that the mounting is quite....well,,,,,,,goofy is the only word I can think of. It comes with 2 different plates with numerous holes in them, the idea being that you can mount the board in any scenario. If you look at the photo of it mounted, you'll see that it only uses 3 holes and the 4th hole is sort of offset. This is so that it can be used with the plate for a 30.5 X 30.5 mounting pattern. But you'll like the frame, nad all those little mounting gummies it comes with look delicious!

The only thing that concerns me with the LEDs is that being a top mount battery, they're going to be in direct contact with the ground.....

How about some 3D printed dome style skids under the motors? I've got some on my 5" and they work really well. Raises the bottom off the floor quite a bit and stops it getting all scuffed up on landing. I intend to stick some on the Acrobrat as well.

There are a few pre-designed ones already on thingiverse...

Sadly, those iForce motors are no no longer available. They kick booty for the buck!

I really like the look of that frame and your super clean build!
