0 Looking to do a 3 inch build. Originally I wanted to do a cinewhoop build just to protect my friends when flying in close proximity. After lotsr of research it seems that the consensus is almost all fly like garbage due to the ducts or bumpers. So my thought it if I did a 3 inch build and just say screw it on the safety part, most of my friends wouldn't really care. I mean im not looking to fly in super close prox like through a cars windows with people inside.
Thoughts?

65 I have several 3" builds. Each has its strengths and weaknesses. One of the issues is will the small packs that are available, hot flights are short...like 2 to 3 minutes. If you pay attention to your throttle, you will likely see this bump to 5 to 7 minutes and if you fly mellow you can get out to over 10 minutes.
Super light builds are all the rage, but they have very little inertia and they tend to suffer a little if you are flying acro stuff. They are not bad, just little carry through. A heavier build will get much closer to what you see in videos of pilots pushing heavier 5" quads.
3" quads are my favorite aircraft and I mostly fly this size. What do you wish to do with it?
SoCal Kaity :D
OMG, no one told me it would be this much fun! Addicted :)

100 04-Jan-2022, 03:48 AM (This post was last modified: 04-Jan-2022, 02:07 PM by hugnosed_bat.) why 3inch than? xD
an ultralight (sub50g dry/sub80g uaw) 1s-2s 3inch quad is something nice; there is low danger at that weight, its very silent/not annoying
a 2,5" would be another option
a classic 3inch quad with 1408 motors on 3inch with 650-850mah 4s batter could be an option, you could switch it to a cinewhoop frame if you like anytime.
