That was a custom build.  I ordered almost everything from Hobby King or online eBay stores from China.  That quad had the brand new Hobby King KK2 FC  Big Grin  I believe that was a 450 frame.  Motors were huge and you had to use billets to hold on the props.  I saw many pics of nasty cuts with those large props.  The ESCs were not part of the FC.  You have to solder bullet connectors.  You connected the motors to the ESC and the ESC to the FC.  I made those landing legs custom.  They were aluminum rods from Home Depot that I covered with shrink wrap and small caps.

Ok Hobby King may have had some clone F450 frames by then. Yes back when I first started using multi copters I had to custom built everything. Even the Kaptein Kuk flight controllers. We buy a blank circuit board and using the material list source out all the components and solder them. I think I still have some of those Murata gyros somewhere.

I also bought a CNC router to cut my own frame. I used different material for arms. Some times I get carbon fiber tubes from different sources. I even bought some airfoil shaped tubes from some vendor over in the UK.

I also used aluminum towel rack tubes from Home Depot to use as arms.

Here is a mid size camera Y6 that I just pulled down from the ceiling for the picture.

That is awesome.  I remember those old camera gimbals. I am not sure GoPros were even out back then.  I didn’t make my own FC so you were really into it.  DJI sold a FC back then called the Naza M2 and you could order it with GPS and I had that on the bigger quad.

You sure brought back memories.

I remember buying my first GoPro way back. It must have been before 2011. I cannot remember which GoPro is on this quad.

Yes I started using Naza when they first came out. Still have it. Not sure if it is M1 or M2. (no number on the case)
