I have posted quite a lot of video over the years, but none of my channels seem to last as an active resource for long, there was the dial-up channel that the ISP ceased, and YT would not deal since they could not contact on the original EMail
Then years later the change of SKY Email ISP to Yahoo that they cocked up and two of my Addresses were killed irretrievably, and guess what, YT would not deal since they could not contact on the original EMail
Do you detect a theme here?
One of my favourite videos was when the first lone Red Kite came to the area, and for some reason liked my Dr David Halko "Superfly" delta. If I launched that it would appear from somewhere (differing trees and directions) and happily fly formation. His flight duration was a lot longer then my battery, though!! Quite amusing to watch it circling waiting for me to change pack!!
As you'll see, the outfield has just been cropped for stable hay, and the day that was cut and days following when it was turned to dry last week, we had raptors of all sorts in attendance to grab the displaced field mice, etc
Our site flying challenge is the turbukence from the various tree lines. We have a period as the wind rises when there's quite severe shear at just above tree height, then, particularly from the South (behind the pilots stand) as it rises more it starts to attach to ground, rolling downwash. Adds to the excitement, but does give us quad fliers (very few in the club) a clearer run at it as the fixed wing "can only fly a biplane in wobbly circuits in a gnats f*rt" brigade don't come (more than once!!
)
We get prospective new members who look at the Conifer and the Oak aligned close to the nunway end, flinch, and walk away. To us, the trees are are just valuable pylons.....
Beauty for me is that out of commuter times, getting there is an 8 minute drive for me, and ANY flying site inside the M25 ring is a rare and desireable thing. We get vandals, we get travellers, we have to co-exist with toy soldiers, we have height restrictions since we are in an airport zone (full ATC permissions) but its still better then the limited and much more distant alternatives.
