So it's time to get started on build #2. I am going to start the build thread in the planning stages this time. In fact originally I started writing this post on 6/9/2017 and just saved it in my drafts for later so that I could have a central place to keep the info while I considered the build.
This quad is dubbed the "Bumble Yellow Pirat" as I want to copy the success I had with the bumblebee but this time I am going to be making the build cleaner (better solder joints, measuring, right sizing, and twisting the wires, filter for video) and rather than use the Martian III frame I wanted to use a Pirat by our friend Zerpo. My overall plan is to keep the quad similar in flight characteristics to the bumblebee but with a cleaner more robust build quality.
I am officially posting the thread since I've made my first purchase from the list: The frame.
Here is the parts list:

Here is the parts list:
- Frame: Piratframes Sloop 225
- PDB: DIATONE V8.3 LC Filter Power HUB
- FC:Diatone D-Link F3 V3 Flight Controller with Integrated PDB
- ESCs: 4 PCS Racerstar RS30A Lites 30A Blheli_S BB2 2-4S Brushless ESC for FPV Racer
- Motors: EMax RS2306 2400KV Racing Series Brushless Motor
- Reciever: FrSky XSR 2.4GHz 16CH ACCST Receiver w/ S-Bus & CPPM (I have extras on hand)
- VTX: DIATONE Stackable SP3 40CH Raceband
- Camera: RunCam Swift2
- Props: reassessing
This build will be a little more expensive than the last, and I am OK with that. I've upgraded 3 major components: The frame, PDB, and ESCs. The extra money spent on the frame and ESCs will be well worth it, and while the PDB wasn't too expensive having the LC filter built in will make everything cleaner but still give me better video.
Overall I am looking at just under $325 for the whole build.
As before I am going to update the OP along the way with the primary highlights, but i'll post the sub-details along the way in the rest of the posts.
Here are my categories of photos:
First batch of parts (waiting on FC and VTX):
dry fit with ESCs soldered. No flight stack and only 2 of the standoffs in general view
