2 SAME LIPO's but different in size and weight

Shocked
Hello guys !

I am pretty new to the hobby and new on this site , so I'm very excited to learn some new stuff !

I have a question tho , recently i ordered an extra lipo battery the exact same brand and c rating etc.. as the batteries i currently have , as i opened the box i was kinda suprised tho , the battery is much larger in size and even weighs 23 grams more than the ones i had, ( see pictures ) , Should i be concerned ? is it normal to have such a difference in the exact same batteries ?

thanks for the help

kind regards,

I guess Dinogy are using a different factory to make their current batches of LiPos and that factory probably just manufacture the cells in a different way where they turn out to be larger / heavier. As long as the internal resistance of all the cells is OK then it's nothing to worry about but it's a shame you will end up with a heavier AUW as a result.

thanks for the reply ! I will check the internal resistance also , and yea the weight difference is a shame  Sad I will probably feel it when flying  Sad

I won't rule out the possibility that they labelled one of the batteries wrong, the lighter battery could be actually a lower C rating or lower capacity pack.
Like Snow said, as long as internal resistance is okay I wouldn't worry about it.

thanks for the help guys !

I checked the internal resistance and they seem very good all of the cells are below 6mΩ and the lenght of flying and performance of my drone also is about the same with both batteries I don't seem to notice a huge difference. So I don't think there is a difference in capacity. It could maybe be a lower c rating , time will tell I guess ? for the moment I think I don't have to worry about it Big Grin

cheers !
