16:9 latency
#1
Hello i world like to chance my 4:3 camera to a 16:9 one that fits better my dominator v3 aspect ratio. But i am a little concerned about the latency of this kind of cameras.
Anyone knows a good 16:9 cam in terms of latency?

Do you race in professional events? if not I don't think you should be concerned. I've been flying the Eagle and 25ms more delay is not that noticeable

Joshua Bardwell did a quick latency comparison between the hs1177 and the eagle and the results was very similar. I do believe that it is not only our cameras latency that we need tho think about, but also the goggles. Also keep in mind that if you run pal with 25fps, you get one frame each 40ms in theory.

I just tested the runcam eagle for a couple of packs and didn't notice any latency compared to the hs1177. But the image was much better imo

Thank you all! I think i will go for the Eagle.
What do you think about the other ones such as foxeer monster, aomway 1200 ecc?
And since Dom v3 are autodetecting pal/ntsc wich one is better? Tvl vs frame rate ...

I've run 4:3 cams on my 16:9 monitors for a couple of years now just to fill the full 7". Honestly, when I'm flying I don't even notice the stretched image any more.

Actually I got ised to flying 4:3 on 16:9 image so much, that I feel wery weird while flying my 16:9 Eagle Smile my feeling of distance is off, especially when doing sharp turns in proximity. That's something a person will get used to, bit it's just weird in the beginning Wink
Find me on Youtube and Instagram. I currently fly: DRC Aura, NOX5R, Minimalist 112 and drive a scrap RC car

Anyone tried Foxeer hs1189? It costs almost the half of the eagle ....they claim also half the latency...
