24 Is it OpenTX compatible, also seems like only PPM and PCM, no digital protocol?
It also looks like a 1980's HiFi, not that that is any reason to exclude it from the list!
Votes for unlisted TX, please comment!

72 Well, I voted for the QX7 on the basis that it's probably the best radio if you are just starting out and you don't already have models with non-FrSky receivers, but what I actually have is:
Devo 7e
Devo 10
Jumper T8SG
The Jumper is a great little radio which will be even better when they release the Hall effect gimbals for it. The jumper is the replacement for my Devo 7e.
The Devo 10 is also a very nice radio. More switches than you'll ever need and with a 4-in-1 board replacing the original transceiver board, it can fly just about anything, just like the T8SG.
I'll be modding both my Devo 10 and the T8SG with DFPlayer boards so that they can do voice alerts like a Taranis.
After getting familiar with DeviationTX over the years, creating a new model is a simple matter of hacking together a model.ini file on my computer with the functions I need and uploading it to the radio.

24 I have been wondering about the Jumper, good to know that you like it. I will follow the progress of your mods if you share the process..?
Also just saw that the TGY 9X has been updated with AFHDS 2A compatibility, where the FlySky TH9X is AFHDS only, found other info stating that the new models are not compatible with OpenTX, can anyone confirm?

72 Sure will Tom!
The one thing the Jumper really needs is the upgraded gimbals. The ones it comes with are rubbish. When you return the sticks to centre, the channel value can settle anywhere between 1495 and 1505 which is really poor. Nothing that some deadband can't solve, but it is a strong indicator of the gimbals being less than great.

1 I have to vote QX7, but if possible, I'd go Taranis. It can be had for that range, and offers more switches, which I use a lot of.

6 QX7. Its from FrSky, so it has to be good. I have a modded Flysky FS-I6 (Custom firmware, better antenna, tightened gimbals, RSSI hack), but the QX7 is one of my dream radios!
