14s 160A UAV
#1
Hi Guys,

I want to build a HIGH power quad UAV to run on 14S at 160A or higher. I'm considering using the Hobbywing V5 (for plane) 14s 160A esc with a F3 or F7 controller. Any idea if it will work or other suggestions? Thanks!

The Hobbywing V5 is an Opto ESC (no BEC) so you're going to need a voltage regulator to provide 5 volts to your flight controller.
Dude, where's my quad?

Wish it's built. Lol. I know it's a stretch.

Will you be using this to transport livestock?

not planning on it but it'll have some serious flight ability.

It seems like I can control esc/motor system through betaflight if I select the esc in pwm mode. I wonder how much slower is it compared to oneshot or dshot? The esc updates at 16kHz according to HB.

How big of a quad do you plan on building?

rated at 40kg. Anyone has experience with the DJI Takyon Z14120C ESC? It seems to have reasonable specs and price, just not sure how well it works...
