#1
For those using 130 frames or 3" props what motors are you using and why?

Hopefully can help me decide how to kit out the AirBlade

Depends on what you want to do! The 1306 4000kv are nuts, but you've got to prop them fairly light on 4S, and they draw some amps.

The 1306 3100kv you can prop up a lot (3x3x3, 3x4x3, BN whatever pretty much) and they're a lot less hard on the battery. Less aggressve though.

MyRCMart has a 1407 3800kv that should be available soon that looks wicked as well. Should handle a bit more prop than the smaller higher KV DYS motor.

Either way I think 1306 or 1407 is the way to go. The 11XX are super light, but don't have much speed. Not bad for a small 3S setup for relaxed cruising though. Like I said, depends what you want

My aim is just to have a small park/area basher but at same time I don't want it feeling boring, I was thinking of using the new RCX 1304s, but not sure if I should just go to 1306 3200kv, that should allow me to cut down DAL props ? I heard some bad things about the 1407 overheating on normal BN props so kinda puts them out picture for now

Yup I have the 1407 3200kv and I bought them so I could prop bigger pitch triblades on 4s without any problems. Might have to try those 1407 3800kv when they come out
I use 3030bn and 3040 tris props on them, no problems at all, I even had a 1300 4s on it with the 3030bn and it was still super fast with the extra weight

the 1407 are high enough KV BN are probably out. The 1306 3200kv I think are a good balance.

1306 4000kv are wicked even on 3s and 3045x3. We are talking about sub 250g build that puts over 1200kg of thrust. No place for boredom there, trust me Smile

BTW. I don't see any sense going in 4s on those motors with lighter prop.
Find me on Youtube and Instagram. I currently fly: DRC Aura, NOX5R, Minimalist 112 and drive a scrap RC car
