12V Buzzer for a Naze32
#1
Hello I have decided to put stronger buzzer to make it a lot loud than a standard 5V. I'm planning to put + wire to my 12V BEC on PDB and a ground to a naze32 buzzer ground because as far as I know buzzer is activated by naze with providing ground to it. Will it work? I should't fry the board right? Its operating voltage is from 3 to 12V so it will sound as loud on 5V as on 12V?

Diameter: 23 mm
Height: 12mm
Operating voltage: 3-12V
Volume: 85dB
Current consumption: 12mA
Frequency: 3.3kHz ± 500Hz

It looks like this:

I'd be leery - seems like you'd be sending 12V through the controller when the circuit closes.  You might need one of these .  Wink  (I could be wrong, though.)

You can connect a 12 volt piezo buzzer to your Naze board, just use the ground on the Naze as the trigger and connect + wire to any suitable 12 volt rail on the PDB.  I do this on some of my SPracing F3 boards  (when I can get suitable 12 volt piezos ).

You could also run 2 x 5 volt buzzers in series if you want. Smile

thanks guys for an answer. It will be a lot easier to connect this buzzer to the naze directly so the question is will it be as loud on 5v like on 12v?

Short answer is NO. it will be louder on 12 volt than 5 volt.
