1S brushless Bat 100, sub 30g, under $100
#1
Huge thanks to Sandra and BangGood who have offered to send me this quad in lieu of this Pre-Launch Article.

The Bat 100
available to purchase now here - https://goo.gl/vFLhUv  and for under $100!

I think this little 100mm micro is pretty exciting for those (like me) wanting to make the step up from brushed motors to find out what brushless power is all about. The video at the bottom shows someone stopping one of the 56mm props by hand so we are not dealing with the high power of racing motors, but the acro flying and speed shown in the clip are not to be sniffed at, especially from a 3.7v (1s) battery!

The Bat ships PNP (Plug and Play) from BangGood and requires the installation of a ppm, SBUS or DSM receiver to fly, otherwise its fully assembled and ready to go (er, I just noticed that it says included is a 'frame kit' so I will confirm what I receive!) The Teeny1s F3 FC comes pre-flashed with OmnibusF3 running Betaflight 3.1 DShot compatible firmware, and the 4-in-1 6A ESC uses DShot600 protocol with the 0705 15000kV motors. These little motors have a 1.0mm shaft and spin 56mm 2 blade props which look very similar to those used by the Ladybird and the QX tiny's.

The FPV is provided by a 600TVL camera streaming live PAL/NTSC video through a 48 channel 25mW VTX which should provide a real-time FPV feed for up to 100m without obstructions. The Omnibus OSD, LED and buzzer should all be configurable through the Micro-USB on the FC, which uses the MPU6000 SPI sensor.

As you see here, the Bat weighs in at a meager 30g dry, and with it's 1s 500mAh 30c battery the advertised flight time is up to 6 mins. The 100mm frame is 2 tier offering good protection for the FC and ESC board mounted in the center of the stretched X frame. BangGood haven't provided details of the carbon fiber that has been used, but it looks pretty thin from the photo's, I guess it is the necessary sacrifice to keep the weight so low, hopefully the light weight means it won't require anything thicker to maintain its resilience.

I hope to be getting a couple of MyLiPo.de 350mah and 600mah batteries which I will try with the Bat 100... Expect a full review as soon as I have this one in the air!

This little quad looks amazing, I've been looking to build or buy a little brushless quad... this might be it, something for the backyard that can handle a breath of air better than the whoop.

Just received confirmation that, after a false start with the 1st order, the Bat-100 has shipped, I asked about expedited shipping for a review item, but IDK..? It may just be a couple of weeks, it may be 12, but I will have a review of this posted as soon as...

pretty cool little thing... I've been wanting to decide on something to replace my micro that I've given up on... and brushless is a good thing. I look forward to seeing what else you have to say about them Tom!

That looks like a really fun aircraft! Brushless is likes whole world apart when compared against brushed. I have built more than a 'hot' brushed micros and they are not in the same league as the Lizard. The Bat looks like a great next step Smile

I'm looking forward to the review, provided there aren't any major issues I think this might be my first micro brushless quad.

TBH I doubt this will be in the same power:weight league as the Lizard either, but I agree it does look like the perfect step up from brushed, also if you are taking the step, like me, then the fact that its 1s means you might be able to use your existing batteries. I am getting some MyLipo.de batteries as all 5 of the 'PeakPower' (WeakPower) 500mah 30C that came with my tiny7 are starting to go off after 50-60 cycles.  Dodgy  One of them sags so badly, that on a fresh charge, it needs like 70-80% throttle to take off!

This will be my 1st brushless quad, and I'm really excited to receive it and see how it performs. I'm also looking forward to giving you guys my opinion, I just really hope shipping doesn't take as long as usual... Popcorn

You are going to LOVE it! I have never flown a 1s brushless, but my Pika 90 (8.5mm brushed) uses 1s 500's, a lot of power at a nice low cost so one can have a stack of freshly charged packs to fly! Big Grin

I am also very interested in the review. I love my Lizzy 95, but it is a handful in my small yard and I would like something a little calmer for around the house.

So It has finally arrived!!! YAY, please see my review here - http://intofpv.com/t-bat-100-review

And Kaitylynne, you are right I love it, brilliant fun and much faster than I was expecting, good power to recover from acro moves, and in the garden it will be great. Even in a large space this little guy doesn't feel dwarfed by open areas like most brushed micro's, it still feels really fast flying on a football pitch.

Everyone should get one!!
