Yeah, I'll do a reset and take care of that.  I noticed the box says "Hall Mode 2".  Has this got the Hall gimbals already in it?  Was this the + version? I was about to order some gimbals before I opened the case to do the module mod...

The pro version should have hall gimbals in it

You'll know if it's the "Pro" version because there will be an antenna sticking out the top of the transmitter body instead of a module plugged in the back.

There are only a few screws to remove to get the back off so that will be the easiest way to check if it already has hall effect gimbals installed. Livyu shows the visual differences between the hall and non-hall gimbals in his video.

Yeah, it's definitely not the pro version.  I thought it was actually the first pre-release version, but now I'm not sure.  I will go ahead and do the internal mod and check out the gimbals before I go spend $20.  I suspect it was a labeling error on the box.

I was just looking on the Jumper website for something else and I notice that there are actually 3 versions of the T16:-

1. A standard T16 HERE. Has an external multiprotocol module and normal potentiometer (non-hall) gimbals.
   
2. A T16 Plus version HERE. Has an external multiprotocol module and hall gimbals.
   
3. A T16 Pro version HERE. Has an internal multiprotocol module and hall gimbals.

So maybe yours is the second one?  Certainly worth checking before you order any gimbals.

No sorry to disappoint you, I used the box from the T16 Pro Hall... the radio is still the original T16 (non-hall gimbals)

Ha! That's fine - explains it though.  And I *did* do the internal module mod and confirmed that they are indeed the old gimbals.

I'm going to the Atlanta airport next week, and will stop over at Grayson hobbies and pick up a set of the hall gimbals, as well as a few other upgrade items (carbon face shell, roller wheel and PCB upgrade, and 3D printed module bay cover).  Now I'm ready to install the latest OpenTX (as soon as I can tear myself away from my new goggles!)
